I'm there. I live 2 hours away and it's a really easy drive. I'll be bringing my collection again and I'll hopefully have my TKL Alps project done. Hopefully you're really into it 'cause I'm so excited to build it.

I'm in Chicago, but I like Indy a lot.  Its about a 2 hour drive last I remember?  I'm down for it as long as the weekend works, I probably won't bring too many boards to show off, but will definitely have some Model M's to sell if anyone is interested...

We need to hit up the Three Wise Men brewery...  I freaking love that place...

Trent, the Threewisemen brewery probably isn't even in the top 5 breweries in town.  It's not even the best in that neighborhood.  We have some really good beer in this city.

Anyone in Chicago want to carpool down to this?  I wouldn't mind going assuming I'm not out of town for a wedding/vacation/etc that weekend.

I may be interested depending on when this takes place. Ideally, I'd want to have finished modding my boards before then.

If all we get is interest from people in Chicagoland, I'm not sure if this meetup would be such a great idea.  I hope to drag in Hoosiers, Ohioans, Kentuckians, and some folks that did not attend the Chicagoland meetup.  Otherwise, we should just hold another Chicagoland meetup.

Eh, I always tentative about it, anyways.  I would rather concentrate my efforts on this KeyCon idea.  Perhaps in the dead of the midwest winter, when the frigid cold has destroyed any hope of life ever being enjoyable again, I could host a meetup to brighten the spirits of keyboard freaks in a 200-mile radius, complete with eggnog, roasted walnuts, and Christmas tree decoration.

I've made it from Chicago to Peoria in 2 hours.  And that's usually a 3.5 hour drive for most :)

Similar to my earlier sentiment, I am thinking of organizing a meetup this winter.  Because I feel it's too late to get commitments for a pre-Christmas meetup, I can throw something together in January or February.  I like this point in time because it's a dead time of the year for most people, when Christmas cheer has subsided, winter is in full swing, the days are short, the end of the semester is far off, the warmth of spring is a distant dream, and we desperately need something to look forward to.  So you can look forward to a meetup in always charming Indianapolis.

Also, I want to show off some new boards and hopefully some projects I will have completed.

Not sure if I want to host this in a neutral location or in my house.

ANYBODY INTERESTED???

Yes. I think MKULTRA and mistakemistake have expressed interest in doing an Indy meetup as well. But I'll let them speak for themselves. I'd rather this be before February, preferably in 2013. February or March is Keycon West time frame. But I'm pretty close to Indy so it doesn't matter too much to me.

Hmm, interesting.  I was just thinking that Thanksgiving through Christmas is a busy time for most people, and I do not want to throw this together before Thanksgiving.

Is there a discussion about Keycon West anywhere, or is that taking place behind the scenes?  Perhaps I found a good use of those airline miles...

The Keycon West date was floated out by Mkawa at Keycon in Chicago and again when I went to visit him last week. Mkawa was saying he wants iMav to attend and iMav will be in the LA/San Diego area around Feb or March 2014. Kawa also said that time works best for him and he could find a place to hold the meet at UCSD.

I'm pretty sure it's been talked about before in random threads on GH but there's no dedicated thread right now.

Well I imagine most of the folks around here would not be able to attend Keycon West, so I will not regard that as an impediment to planning this meetup.

Or we could all go to both, which is what I will do if I still have those airline points laying around.

Yep. After I tried John's 10th Anniversary 55g RF at KeyCon, I knew it was the best switch I've tried. However, I do plan on getting a 60% ALPS keyboard. I really liked the orange ALPS one of your Apple keyboards has. How are they in comparison to the standard Matias Quiet Switch?

I could not tell you about the standard Matias quiet switch, but I do have some Matias clicky switches sitting right next to me.   The Matias clicky feels a little heavier than the Orange Alps.  Orange Alps are known for being on the lightest vintage Alps.  I am selling those boards with Orange Alps.  It could be yours if you are interested.

I repair and recondition Model M's so if anyone needs something done, holler at me!
