Bad news, the shipment we received is in fact brandless but with spanish layout. Sorry, will check on the other incoming now.

Make sure such shipment gets to Spain asap and tell me which shops are getting it, along with the mechanisms they are using . I'm not joking when I say that I can pass the message pretty quickly and many people will be interested to get a keyboard with actual spanish layout... specially if it ain't with MX Blacks (the market is full of blacks but we have nothing else).

Cheers!

I brought them over for my South American / Latin American Region.... :) Sorry

Damn! As prava says, we are pretty sure you'll sell a lot of keyboards in our country since we dont have any gaming/keyboard brand or whatever selling such keyboards with different switch options in our layout. And there (the whole of us) is a lot of people interested in this keyboard, specially me, I would love to order an ISO MX Blue vesion brandingless, and if it goes under 90, maybe a brown one again (I had a filco mx brown once).
The more keyboards we have, the more keyboards we want.

The brandless browns will not be in before that. They are still shipping out inventory we have but with a MASSIVE amount of orders its backed up the warehouse a little bit. WOuld expect everything to be shipped by today.

Guess Borderlands 2 won't be as fun to play. Thanks for the update though.

Edit: What would your best estimation be for when they'd be in? I was just wondering about a time table, so I wouldn't have to check emails or threads every day for updates.

Carter,

Can I make a note on the order to wait for a brandless brown? Will you guys be able to honor that?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I ordered a CM Quickfire Rapid (Cherry MX Brown Switches) on the 8th at 1:00 in the morning and I'm wondering if I'll get a non branded one with a different color scheme for my keyboard.

Ya guys if you read carter's GENEROUS posts you would know... :\

In other news I got my red QuickFire Rapid from Amazon & it has no top logos, wa hoo. Looks very sexy with my Rag red n black caps. Still getting used to the reds coming from blues. I only slightly miss my clicky switches and love the lack of noise so.... I like!

Well Carter said "Bad news, the shipment we received is in fact brandless but with spanish layout. Sorry, will check on the other incoming now." and also this "Blank top covers confirmed. Black & grey will be OTW soon." so I assumed maybe I'll get a CM Quickfire Rapid with Cherry MX Brown switches, no branding, English layout, and a different color scheme.

No the tops are to be separately available in both colors, explained in yet earlier postings.  This is to de-brand your older board.

Picked up the MX Blue version just now...I plan to eventually convert it to vintage black stems with the blue springs.  This will be my first Costar-based board, too :)  At $56 shipped, you cannot go wrong!

Sorry if this question has been answered.... I am ready to order QFR reds on the website, would I need to request to have it brandless or would it already come without the logos. Thanks.

I think Carter confirmed that the reds are all brandless.

But if you want to be on the safe side, just add a note to specifically request it, that can't hurt.

That is really odd, I will need to check and see if they have stored QF Rapid red stock at their warehouse. We have two, but the ones in main stock are all unbranded. Have no idea how you got a branded one.

I'm not too worried about it, my GF ordered one the same day and we'll get that one today or tomorrow (different shipping method) and hopefully hers won't be branded.  I'll just wait for the tops to come in and paint this one in the interim.  Otherwise, the board feels just as solid as the rest.

Ok so I just got my CM QuickFire Rapid with Reds about 20 minutes ago and I unbox it and it looks used.  I immediately see this scratch on my alt key and these feint like rubbing/wearing on the corners of a few of the keys but noticeable on the Esc and ctrl keys...  This is immediately out of the box mind you and my first thought was someone used a keycap tool on the Alt key...

I carry on and hook it up and start typing away and try to Alt+tab to another window... Nothing.. Left-Alt doesn't work at all.  Nothing.  Tab works, right alt works.  At this point I don't even care to find out what else doesn't work.  I purchased this keyboard about 8 hours before Carter announced his new 30% off keyboard sale.  So I paid full price on Amazon.  So now what? RMA? Return to Amazon? I'm going to get hit with return shipping on top of paying $27 more for this item.  Not impressed.

As mentioned the wearing on the Esc key:

And here is the overall shot where the Alt key is still visable:

Well I wish I had an answer for you. There is absolutely no way the keyboard is used as this is all from one batch which was the very first shipment of brandless boards. Something could have gone wrong on the production line at Costar but should have been caught. I would simply return it to Amazon and they should send  you a new one at no charge. Amazon always sends a return label...

Just looks like the keys are easily scratch-able.  The only real issue I have with the board is the Left-Alt key not working.  I am going to refund the keyboard and go through your store assuming the 30% off is still available..

If you bought it on amazon, return should be easy. Just say the item is defective. They will give you a free return label and just send it off.

When it asks you for a reason for the return, choose the option similar to the item being defective, or not working as described. That would give you a free shipping label back to Amazon. If that doesn't work, I would just chat with a customer service rep to get the free return label.

Edit: did you mean free shipping on the CM website?

If he didn't mean that, I'll ask.  The discount works, but there's shipping as an additional cost.  But I am using chrome.

EDIT: IE did the same.  I mention it because the store clearly mentions optimization for all but chrome.

It shows shipping as an additional cost at this time, so I guess it did?
