[taking orders!] Double shot replacements ROUND FOUR!

Can anyone tell me which set will suffer from low quantity fee? Hasn't followed this thread for a month :frown:. Thanks.

Kits which don't suffer from that low qty fee are:
TERMINAL, STANDARD, STD, TENKLESS, TKL, ALPHA, SPACE (except SPACE7BIT), any modifier (like SYMRGBYSTD) and function key kits (like SYMALIAN), the color samples and the key puller (TOOL).

Kits which suffer from that low qty fee are:
all language stuff (DE, DE, FR, COLEMAK, DVORAK etc.), MODIFIER, FUNCTION, NUMERIC, GAMER and POS kits, and all the fluff, like Windows, Apple and Linux modifiers.

7bit, I changed my order to try and reduce the cost and it has went up!

I just want the retro grey kit for a UK model Filco Majestouch and in addition a gamer kit in the blue colour.

How to I best do this at the least cost?

If it is just for the Filco and not for keyboards without windows keys, I'd take:
RETRO/STANDARD125 1
RETRO/UK 3
RETRO/GAMER/BLUE 3

I will program the script to treat RETRO/STANDARD125UK + 2x RETRO/UK the same as RETRO/STANDARD125 + 3x RETRO/UK, but currently it does not work that way. Maybe tomorrow you can order:
RETRO/STANDARD125UK
RETRO/UK 2
RETRO/GAMER/BLUE 3
to get even lower prices, as long as I still get as many new orders as people jump off.

:-)

The code went hot from so many times running the script without any input, so it has to cool down for a moment.

ps: You will order more, yes?

I'm looking at getting something for the custom ergo split keyboard in dvorak and wanted to trim the fat and change from tkl+uk to tenkeyless and a uk kit + dvorak kit, think it makes it easier on how your script works, rather than select the intergrated sets.

try this:
$STYLE/TKL
$STYLE/DVORAK 3
$STYLE/UK 3

Pleasse don;t forget to set $STYLE to something meaningful, like ROUND3 or RETRO, NOIR, SPH.

You can add as much as you like. Also remove, but this is not recommended.
But after te deadline, only a few extra kits will be availbale!

If everybody orders 33 times one of these, I think I could skip the $33:
Code: [Select]

*/SYMPAUSE       |  1|  1|Pause symbol key (1 unit, row 1)
*/SYMALIEN       |  1|  1|Alien symbol key (1 unit, row 1)
*/RGBYSH100      |  1|  1|Green Shift kit (1.25 unit Shift)
*/REDESC         |  1|  1|Red Esc
NOIR/GLIDERESC |  1|  1|Hacker key (1 unit, row 1)

Where * is any of RETRO, ROUND3, NOIR or SPH.

That seems a fair deal, keycaps instead of a fee ; getting everyone's agreement would be a pain however.

7bit, maybe you could force that change to people and let them choose between one of the previsously mentioned kits : put a default kit with a comprehensive description, and then allow people to switch between the kits. If the orders contains none of these kits, put the default kit back. What do you think about it ?

Thank you for the explanations.

You could maybe send an email to everybody to ask them to buy some random individual keys to reduce the fees (or something else), like you told us just now?

I ordered even more just to reduce those fees, but if it doesn't go down, I'll probably reduce it again a bit.

I will not stop collecting orders. But I will

- throw out all orders where I don't have a shipping address or at least some payment, or some other response.
- prepare the order lists
- send the order to SP.
If the price does not much differ from the last pricequote, I fix the prices according to the ordered quantities and we collect the rest of the money.

If you did not pay I will ask for payment before I throw you out. If you promise to pay later, it might be generous and leave your order in.

I just don't want to order from SP and then don't get the money together.

I don't think so, unless your model is different than mine. If you take off the cap you will see there is a long plastic tube meant to keep the cap in place. The stems of the cap produced by SP are likely not to fit.

I don't think so, unless your model is different than mine. If you take off the cap you will see there is a long plastic tube meant to keep the cap in place. The stems of the cap produced by SP are likely not to fit.
As far as I know it is possible to just put a regular 2.75 units Return into row 3 and put a blank on that stabiliser. LRET are for the Cherry style of L-shape Returns.

Order more and it can be lowered. It is currently $33. It is to cover fixed costs, like the space bar tools and SVG graphics fees etc.
International shipping is usually $18 and if yu order more than 300 key caps it surely is something like $36.

Why would I care about costs for space bar tools and SVG graphics fees when I ordered neither a space bar nor a key with a graphic on it? Also I live in the country next to yours so shipping by parcel is $12 AFAIK. WASDkeyboards often sent their key caps as letter rather than parcel, which are cheaper yet - from overseas no less.

When I make a group order I split the extra costs proportionally to everyone's share of the value of the main goods. Say I order $250 worth of stuff, and $200 worth is for myself and $50 for a friend. Let's assume shipping + customs + VAT is $50. In that case I pay $40 of it myself, and the friend pays $10.

I do appreciate the work you put into this group buy, but with small orders like mine ($66 before fees, $111 after fees) I'm clearly not one of the target audience for it, so I guess I should bail rather than reason/argue. Good luck.
Keyboard: Kinesis Ergo Advantage (two LF editions with red Cherry switches, one regular with brown switches)
Keyboard layout: basically Colemak, with some remapping to end up with my custom Kinesis Advantage layout

Actual shipping costs are only around $6 including package material and your few key caps would feel very lonely in that package!

Carry on, organise your own group order!

Nice that you complain about costs, while you order only niche products, like COLEMAK or blanks!
