any updates about round 1 orders? :)
Hello!  Dear Justnits!  ;)

We are almost there for the Round 1 shipping,  But as I posted, PCB soldering remains, Each inspection, final check, Packing, check for the each Person's order, etc...  take much  longer time than expected.   I am sending simple parts orders, but even packing into boxes take quite efforts for me.
I guess sending 10 Boxes a day is not possible for me.  :(
Big Apology!!

Is it possible we can request ours unsoldered and solder them ourselves?

[)amien

Yes. I am doing this to try to take some pressure off Sprit.  I need the soldering practice.  :)  Do be aware though that the diodes are SMD, so you need to be reasonably comfortable with a soldering iron.

The 60% FaceW PCB board also supports through-hole diodes...but only SMD resistors (for use with LEDS):

Show Image

dumb question. smd diode and through hole diode. are both needed or just one ?  ;D
nice pic btw, helped me  :D

You only need one. SMD diode OR Through hole diode.

cool. thanks  :)

Just out of curiosity, how close are we to the MOQ for Round 2? Would like to know how much time I have to get the money together for this...

Is a pcb-mount or plate-mount stabilizer better?

Does a pcb-mount stabilizer still work with a plate installed?

1. Completely depends on personal preference. Both are good IMO.
2. It depends on whether the plate supports PCB mount stab. Plate for customized keyboard usually support PCB mount stab.

Im using it for a custom board. Ex: gh60, sprit.....

I just wanted to get an idea of how compatible everything is.

Does anyone know what kind of spacebar I need for my 75% keyboard?
I never had a KC84 so I can't tell whether it is Cherry type, Filco/Ducky OEM type or something entirely different.

Sorry, for bothering you again, but could you tell me how an acrylic plate feels compared to a metal plate like I asked in my PM?
Anyways, don't strain yourself too hard, man, I hate to work overfatigued!

I hate popular flat thin Alu custom plates for too noisy,
love side bent Alu and Steel plates for less noise and stability,
may like thin Acryl plates for less noisy and softer  -  than thin Alu ones,

Really agree of how much has sprit put more than he could to this GB,

This was the result when I try to dig deeper from the package sent to me,

The box was huge but was too light. After opening the box, there is a smaller box inside it and I was like, "hey is it a joke? a puzzle? or a prank? Boxception? Sprit is there any end of it?." In the smaller box there located the treasure behold, stabs lubes and switches has different box, the pcb is fully wrapped with bubble wrap. I have to fight the jungle of bubble wrap and alas!!!

I tried to count the springs but stop after the count of 8, haha, how much more of an order of more than 100.

After the unboxing, it made me realize how much sprit give his all to this gb.

Thank you so much sprit. More power to you.

Hello Guys!   :)

I am learning again : All parts need human efforts to sort, count, inspect, return, order again, pack, lable...
Ready made parts are better : SWs, LEDs, Resistors... but need same procedure to pack into a each set.
Custom made Parts are monsters  : lots of manufacturing bugs, material issues...  Much more efforts to Control Qualities.  ;)
Have a Nice Weekend!  ;)

I received half of my order from the springs GB.

Packing each individual order takes a long time to do. Counting springs, switches, stabilizers all take up lots of time. Then, you have to bubble wrap everything and fill out EMS customs forms... Sprit probably has over 100 orders, and there's only so much 1 person can do. Patience, and you will receive. :)

He is smd soldering a bunch of the boards because the moq was not hit for it to be done by the factory.  I am sure that is much more daunting than originally anticipated.

That's true, but maybe it would have been more sensible to hold off on running a buy on springs until he completed these 1st round shipments. It seems that 1st round shipments are being delayed as a result of the separate springs GB.

Hello!  Dear Keymaster!  ;)
Yes! You are right!   ;)    I had expected the separate spring GB should have a small effect on the PCB + Case + ..shipment, but had more.

The reason Why I had decided that separate GB and The Results are ;
- In the 1st GB, quite a lot of people ordered only springs (and small parts), the EMS shipping cost were too much,  I needed a Solution.
- The production MOQ for the springs were much higher than the real sum of 1st orders, this separate GB had filled the gaps.
- I have a really good chance for the full inspection, and found lots of defective ones I did not noticed, selected them out.
- But the orders for this separate GB were more than expected, Yes, it has delayed the PCB shipping to a certain degree.
- So I have closed it and will not run again for a while.

Really Sorry for this !!!  :(    :)

Just to double check, if we ordered springs with our initial order, those are still coming then, right?  I know I was invoiced for them and paid, they're just waiting to ship with the PCB, correct?

Yes!  Right!   Nubbinator!   ;)        You Guys orders : PCB + parts +.. (18K Springs, too) will ship together as scheduled!

What I am mentioning above is ;   There are people who ordered only springs and small parts in the 1st round...
and I had a good chance for the full inspection for all, and found lots of defective ones I did not noticed, selected them out...
But it had a effect on the delay at a large scale...

does the plate or pcb come with stabs, because I never saw an option on the order form in the first round.

I believe sprit added stab prices in the shipping invoice. You should double check with him though. :)

The stab was not on the order form at first, but added subsequently. However, it seems the stab is out of stock now.
