@ Sprit

You missed a "r" in Europe in the OP :)

Do you mind if I post this on Deskthority.net as well?

Question @ Canadians that are interested in purchasing springs.

How many bags are you expecting to purchase? I'm shipping these in cardboard boxes so the springs don't get crushed/deformed in transit, so I'll need to find the optimal box size!

Probably three sets of springs.

Decisions...

I'll be getting only one bag, will fill out the form once I've had some coffee ;)

Very rare we get a Canadian proxy--thanks very much Zeal!

Oooooooh! I've been wanting to experiment with an ergonomically weighted keyboard. I just ordered 1 of each :)

I am pretty sure that I ordered springs with the main group buy as well, probably 62s, I guess I'll have an extra bag or two of some weight when I get those...

Well, now that there's a proxy for EU, I'm going to have to order 1 pack just to experiment.
Now to choose. Probably 62s.

We don't know yet. If we don't find a reasonable solution I'll have to use real boxes, but this will be ~25$ for max 2kg.

I don't think it's worth it to ship 10$ springs in a 25$ box just to avoid some broken springs. It would be cheaper to order 2x the springs you need and sort out the broken ones ;)

We will make a decision on that matter after we have checked all the alternatives.

My original quote from SPRIT was $25 postage from him to UK..that was for 3 spring sets and a krytox lube...so wouldnt make sense to do flat rate shipping from Germany to UK (generalising to Europe here). I had an old pcb full of switches sent from Germany to UK - that was 5EUR postage. I also had 110 MX Switches sent from germany to UK - that was 3 EUR postage.

Sorry - what I mean in the post above is that the flat rate $25 box shipping from Germany to rest of EU wouldn't make sense for orders of say " a few spring sets" as these would most likely be for most people in the GB

Also, do we need a dedicated UK proxy if we have Europe covered by proxy in Germany? Germany to UK postage should be fine!

Yeah, I will cover EU.

The 25$ is the quote for shipping in a box, because people were concerned that the springs might get damaged in a padded envelope.

As I posted earlier this is not reasonable for a set of 11$ springs in my opinion, but that's for you to decide.

The prices for shipping the switches you were talking about are for shipping without tracking.

If you don't need tracking it would be cheaper, but I don't take responsibility for lost shipments.

From receiving springs in padded envelopes before...I think theyd hold up pretty well with just a layer of the bubblewrap.

OK, I am in the UK so was seeing if I was needed but I think you have UK/EU covered LechnerDE! Thanks for that! I'll put in a spring order after work (next few hours) to get the EU order count up.

Gold springs! Exciting haha

Stamped envelope: I sent a few springs as samples to someone in a letter envelope, and at least two got deformed/flattened.  I'd not send springs as anything but small package after that experience, in a bubble mailer, with extra bubble wrap.  Normal letter mail gets squished between a lot of flat letters.

THIS ^^^^ A padded letter is fine for protection. No need for box. Just a paper envelope is not enough to protect them.

Confirmed, I have 2 cases, one from Royal Mail reached me after 60 days because they printed my address in poor quality ink so the VNPost cannot delivery it to me, they need to communicate backward and forward and then BOOM I need to pay 20% additional tax  the other from Deutsche Post can reach me after 18 calendar days, everything is free.

Anyway, it all depends and we need to take into account that  Deutsche Post was related partially to the giant DHL.

I like linear switches

and checking the plastic containers like these :

Question :  This container is OK?  to put inside the Padded Bubble Envelope under EU regulations?

Gold plated springs sound ridiculous, which is exactly the right thing when you plan on stickers and lube anyway.

There needs to be more Canadian love in this GB!

So far, I've only counted for ~6-8 Canadian orders in this thread (haven't included mine). Not sure how many have submitted an order without posting though.
Pinging @Sifo, you know you want some #GOLDPLATEDSPRINGS  ;)

Sprit has agreed to send out these springs to Canada at 20 sets, and I'm willing to buy the remaining amount if we get close!

That is odd, especially since 62g springs were part of my order. The field where I had entered my quantity for them is still there, it just now has a dot as a label.
