Here's something that I found hilarious:

What happens when a woman marries the wrong Mario Brother?Listen to the lyrics.
Arguably her
"Brit awards" video is even better, assuming you are reasonably familiar with the UK female (pop) music scene.
Let's see what I've run across in terms of
non-non-serious music vids lately...
To start things off, here's a little gem from back in the day.

And some modern-day electronic indie (and no, I don't understand Danish either).

Heading to Norway for a second...

...and then "down under":

Here's another from the "underrated" camp (I guess being stuck in the early noughties or thereabouts doesn't help):

Is this the Next Big Thing? Whatever:

Heading to slightly better-known artists, here's a nice vid:

And here's one song that I just can't seem to get enough of (not even mentioning the urge to sing along). Not at all complex but
extremely effective.

Finally, here's the last one for now:

Oh, and I've been going through a number of KEXP live sessions on YT lately. They've had an awful lot of good bands in the studio, that's for sure (not to mention good-quality videos, apparently shot with DSLRs these days).
Funny how great music seems to be a domain of non-commercial radio stations of all kinds (college / university, public, state-funded) - looks like they're just about the only ones that really care. The only exception I can think of right now would be
Absolute Radio in the UK, which still is relatively new, so we'll see how that goes in the long term. I guess the problem is that the average commercial station will be shooting for the lowest common denominator in order to maximise advertising profits (or, worse yet, just to get the bills paid at all). That obviously doesn't mix with
art particularly well. Seems to be sort of a universal law, with few exceptions.
