Ok so for now I'm only offering PCBs.
That's how they look:
46558-0
46560-1
As promised, they feature black solder mask and are 1.55mm thick, just like Cherry G80 keyboards.
The price is 25€ and I'm going to ship worldwide, but the priority is given to people in Europe and to those who declared interest in a group buy thread.
Don't worry about the supply, when the stock will be low, I'll order another batch.

Sets of electronics and Teensies will become available later this week. The aim for the price of electronics is 20€ including cables. As for Teensy, I will be just buying and forwarding it from this site: http://nettigo.pl/products/503. Their price is 69 PLN (16.43€), shipping is 9 PLN (2.14€) so the total price I'll be asking is 18.57€ + shipping to you.

As for cases there will be 2 options.
1. Made of machined PVC plastic for 50€
2. Made of machined aluminium then anodised for at least 100€, but this could be more, i'm still looking for a third party that will do this for a low price as my CNC machine is very slow when working with thick aluminium blocks.
3. I will continue with improving my designs and experiment with different materials (also involving 3D printing).
PVC cases will be available from the next week. I need to amend my designs slightly as they were designed without having physical PCB and electronics in hand, thus don't fit perfectly and I can see a lot of areas where they can be improved.
Also as those cases are not a part of official ErgoDox project, I'm still making them publicly available on github with my favourite license: "I don't care".
https://github.com/cezaryfalba/ErgoDox-CNC-Case

I can also offer professional assembly service for either keyboard made from my parts or the ones you provide. I talked to local company that assembles small batches of electronics for bigger companies (including Sony and LG TV electronics) and they agreed to do the full soldering job and assembly of a keyboard for 25€ (this is absolutely maximum cost). Of course partial assembly will be cheaper, especially if we don't use external company and either me or my brother have time to do it ourselves.

Also a note about what we're doing. It's not a business, and we don't make any profit on any thing or service we sell. We act only as a proxy, investing our time and money just to make ErgoDox easier to get in Europe (and not only) and so more people can try and enjoy them.

Can you upload some photos of your case prototype ? Even if it is not the final version, I'm curious to get an idea of what they look like.

Good news: I talked to 7bit from Deskthority and he agreed to help me with making Cherry switches available with those keyboards so you will be able to order full kit like in Massdrop (PCBs, case, Teensy, electronics and switches) directly from me, without any wait for any group buys. Of course you can also order partially or fully assembled keyboard.

Are the aluminum cases going to be hard anodized?

I'm going to use the same anodising process as is used in safe cabinets (company based in Nidzica, PL). Not sure how hard it is. I will check with them what norm are their using.

I'm going to wait for my wallet to be less empty before I jump on this, but I surely intend to go with pcb+pvc case+parts+switches at some point.

Ok updates:

I've got complete sets of electronics available for the kits. There was an issue with TRRS sockets I already mentioned earlier. I still couldn't find sockets that would fit exactly perfectly but the ones I found fit with minor mods (removing 2 pins and 2 plastic pegs on bottom). After they're soldered to the PCB they work with a standard TRRS cable. For this reason when you order PCB + Electronics set (which means diodes, resistors, capacitors, I/O expander, USB socket, TRRS sockets, TRRS cable and USB cable) I will pre-solder the TRRS sockets onto the PCBs. The final price for the electronics kit is 17€ so PCB + electronics is 42€ and for the further 10€ I (or an external company if I'm busy) can put it all together so you don't have to mess up with soldering diodes and resistors (although it's quite fun and I recommend you do it yourself).

As I only received final parts yesterday, I spent whole evening putting the keyboard together (without the case) just to see if everything works (especially my TRRS theory). It all works, but I still need to spend some time on the case which is expected to become available around the weekend, possibly beginning next week.

They're produced from the same open source designs I believe. The only difference I can tell you is that they have black solder mask and there might be some differences i thicknesses of layers. I ordered those with 1.55mm thick plates just like the G80 keyboards. But in fact none of that actually matters when building keyboard and in operation of already built product. It's just aesthetics. I don't want to compete with neither Massdrop or MK and my only goal is to make ErgoDox easier to get, especially for Europeans.

But ... what about the cases? Are they available for ordering yet?

Ok I got the final PVC case design and prototype. Here are photos I made quickly without any edit:
49892-0
49894-1
49896-2
49898-3
As you can see the edges are not perfect but with a little sanding they can be made perfect. This material is very nice to work with and easy to polish.
If you like it as it is now, I'm open for orders. I will continue to work on optimising tool paths and the case will improve in time but it will not be very drastic change.
Also, next week I'll start looking for a shop to work on an aluminium case which will be the same as this one, just anodised aluminium.
This case costs 40€, it does not contain the switch plate, so the switches are PCB mounted.
Switch plate will be a separate part and will become available in a few weeks. It will be made from polished 1mm thick aluminium.

i love how much size was shed over the litster case and you can go plate-less. i mean i think the layered cases aren't bad though in solid colors, this is smaller though and better suited for traveling. I could be interested but i'm a tented ergodox user....

Hi, I know this post is old, but I just thought I'd check and see if any of you have any of the low-profile, white, pvc cases in stock right now. I'm hoping to get a case with this design. I like the small size. It's one of the best-looking cases I've seen yet.

Also, is the 3D design of the case available on github or another repository? I could try to print one on my own if there are none in stock right now. I checked on falbatech.pl and it looks like the pvc case is out of stock right now.
