Found my new Hobby
« on: Fri, 18 April 2014, 12:15:38 »
Hey All,

I have been looking for something that will fulfill my need for physical building, mixed with my technological passion.

THIS IS IT!

Currently own a Logitech G710+. Will be getting a Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate in the coming weeks. Already geeking out about building an ErgoDox down the line. Might be something for later this year.

Glad to be a part of this, and just in case, my reddit name is the same.

Thanks!

Hey bro!

Glad you've found your hobby in mech keyboards and I hope you'll have a great time here, sharing your passion and keyboards with us :P

Feel free to check out the classifieds and group buys for key caps and things like that to customize your boards (:

Also, we have a 'making stuff together' board, in case you love to check on other people's work and their progress :P
Current Keyboards: Orion - 62g ergo clears;
A87 PS2AVR - 59g ergo clears; QFR - stock blues

Welcome to GH. Just be aware that this hobby could be very time consuming, and a money drainage.

Welcome to GH.  Are you sure you want to get a Das 4?  There are better options out there.  Especially since you sound like you want to explore your technological passion.

Already purchased the Das 4. It looks to be the best suited for work. I'm an IT guy in a non-IT workspace. Have to be professional and business like and what not. So it seemed the sexiest with the added features that I need, and forgetting features I don't (like LED lighting and what not). Volume knob on it is nice too.

Just out of curiosity, what are the better options in your opinion?

For an environment such as yours, I would prefer a Filco. I have one at work.
