iPhone 4, had it nearly 2 years now. I have an upgrade ready, and I wanna switch to something else, but iOS is so familiar now.. Eh. As long as there are jailbreaks I guess I'll stick with iOS, though WP8 looks sexy.

I have a phone that's attached to a wire in my house. I think it's pretty smart.

Nah, it comes out of the house and hangs from poles.  I don't think it touches the land anywhere.

Wow, mine hangs off the corner of my house and has a number of coils sitting on the ground.  The other end is 2 poles down the driveway in the same state.  Has been for years.

I'm on a Galaxy S2 on some 4.1.2 rom.

I actually bought an Iphone 5 and used it for like 2 weeks before returning it and going back to my S2.

Returned it because I used the same apps on both platforms..and I realized phones are just phones. Build quality was nice on that iphone 5 but I'll keep my $700 and plastic s2 that does the same thing lol.

LG Dare
Indestructible, literally got ran over and nothing happened to it.

Pretty sure my wife had a Dare a few years back. She did have it for at least a couple years but the digitizer started peeling away the top layer and became unresponsive to touch, so we got her a new unit.

LG makes some tough little phones, but after what I went through with the last one, I'm not buying LG again unless it has already been rooted and a rom made for it.

The last one I worked on, LG monkeyed with the internal workings to the extent that I saw some really well known and capable developers run away shaking their heads.

On an Evo 4G I run Evervolv. Check them out at dl.evervolv.com. Pretty stable, but always the latest source. I'm currently running 4.2.2 on my old Evo. :)

Still using my Incredible 2 and plan on keeping it for another year even though I have a free phone on my contract. The only reason it's so great is that the battery lasts about 30hrs even with Wifi and bg apps running. I've never seen another smartphone that was so efficient.

So I'm up for an upgrade in July, currently running a HTC Sensation. What do you think the best Android will be for T-Mobile then? The HTC One (M7) looks really cool, but I've come to realize that because I mostly use my phone for calls/txts/tapatalk/navi/reddit that I don't really need a quad core or really good camera.

Might just get the One S for cheap, lol.

You can get them directly from Samsung, but it won't interact the same way. The Note has a Wacom digitizer, whereas the S3 doesn't.

Edit: - I actually just tried it on my partner's Epic 4G Touch (Galaxy S2) thinking it would act like a regular capacitive stylus, but it does nothing.

If the iPhone weren't so expensive i might be getting one one day. I like the formfactor a lot. Not too big like most sets. Bigger than my Nexus 4 i would not like to go.

I tend to buy a phone, get a cheap contract , and keep it for several years. Before, I had a HTC Desire for a long time, until I gave it to my girlfriend. Now, I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, which I am very happy with. I actually make a lot of use of all the features, even though I typically do not make a lot of calls. To me , it is actually not really primarily a phone anymore.

I started with smartphones running on android and decided to switch to apple when the iPhone 4S came out just to try it out. I was going to go back to android when my contract was up but the aviation  app that I use both at work and on my own time doesn't have all the features available on android.

All of the flight departments where I work are all using apple products, so I guess I'm going to have to stick with apple for quite a while.

Besides the usual fan bashing from either side, i am not sure what phone is better (Android vs. iOS).

Normally its the price of the phone that will make the day and the Nexus 4 was a real money safer since it was even cheaper then the Samsung Nexus. But i do like the form factor of Apple. Not too small and not too big.
There are people that like bigger phones and yes this has its benefits if you read on the phone but to me i like it smaller.

Apps are another issue and i think (think since i don't know exactly) Apple apps are better in a way. Some apps are only available on iOS.

The other thing for me is updates and i came to the conclusion that you either better off to get a Nexus for Android or an iPhone since these phones get the system updates right away. Though i never went the modding route to unlock and use custom roms. This seems to complicated to me. (may i destroy my phone with that?)

So i am pretty open with smartphones now or at least i like to be openminded.

Because of the first post I tried to remember all my cellphones through the years, but I couldn't remember the name of a couple, so here is the incomplete list in no particular order except for the last one which is my current one.

List of phones:

Nokia: 7110,3210,6210,7210,8850,8310,6310,3310,3330,8210,6510,6610,8910,6800,6100,6600,6230,N90,8800,6680,N80,7380,N93,N9

Ericsson: T68,T29s,T66

Sony Ericsson: P800,T610,P900,P910,W800,K750,K810,x10 mini pro

Samsung: SGH-S300,SGH-E700,SGH-M300,SGH-D900,Samsung Captivate Glide,Samsung Galaxy Nexus

HTC: Sensation,Desire S,Desire HD,Legend,Hero,Magic

Blackberry: Bold 9000,Torch 9800

Apple:Iphone,Iphone 4S

Motorola: V70,V600,Razr V3

Siemens:
SL45i

Current and favorite so far: Samsung Galaxy S3

I know I am missing at least one motorola and one other phone, but I can't for the life of me remember the names. I am also missing my very first brick of a phone, but that wasn't a well known brand, so no chance I can remember that.

I always wanted to try the Palm Pre and the Palm Pre2, but never got a hold of it because of the lack of availability for me.

The swapping game is not as strong in me as it used to be. I used to swap two-three times a year, and at most five times a year when I really was into it, but now I try to find phones I like before buying them xD.

Recently swapped to a Nexus 4, as it went back in stock on the Play Store.

Not a big fan of the on-screen buttons, though I made myself to these, and the rest is great for now on ! I'm a big fan of stock Android, well, AOKP more precisely (I can't picture an Andro-phone without a Custom ROM to be honest), and I'm really fulfiled with this rom on the N4.

That said, I'll probably swap to the HTC One once it comes out here, I guess I won't be disappointed, as long as they fixed the hardware problems we could have on the One X. ;)

I got one of those HTC 3D Evos and it got the OTA ICS update. The new Sense UI is a great upgrade from the original but overall I can say that I would not want an HTC again simply due to the UI. Don't get me wrong I love my phone and it has been amazing. I would just prefer to have the "Google experience" phone. I really like the Nexus UI on my tablet.

I will be getting one of the Samsung devices for my next phone.

wife was just saying,
iphone4 is old time to upgrade?
i said unfortunately for her, she's tied to that iphone4 until it dies or she wants to switch to tmobile (or whichever company offers unlimited data tmobile or sprint?) she still has a grandfathered iphone4, the unlimited data is nice, when she travels she watches hulu, either on the iphone or she'll tether to the ipad.

Yea i know why not use the hotel wireless? 50% of the time hotel wireless sucks ass.

iphone 4s. simple and just what i need to get through the day. Don't really care for all the fuss that people make over which phone is better.

I've decided to permanently boycott iPhones on two accounts of capital crime;

1 - stupid sent-text swoosh retarded sound effect. Can't turn it off!

2 - can't type sideways in YouTube. Dafuq?

There are many other small reasons why, but the former two seem to be the most blatant, and annoying.

Considering Android alternatives...

Android all the way. So much better for those that are familiar with computers.
I used to buy Apple products but haven't for some years now. I do not like their business ethics. They bashed Windows for the longest time and now they are going after smartphone companies for "stealing" their designs when they have been the one's "stealing" for the longest time.
