what options are available for Cherry ML keycaps?
« on: Wed, 09 April 2014, 22:25:46 »
The ML keycaps I’ve seen are all printed ABS, kind of flimsy and cheap feeling, and most are smaller than standard keycap size [which is fine for some purposes].

Does anyone know sources for interesting Cherry ML keycaps?

Are the SP ones any good? Will they do double-shots? PBT?
Are there other keycap vendors who sell ML caps? Blanks? What kind of cap sizes are available?

AFAIK there's essentially only SP or harvesting lasered/dyesub POM/PBT from Cherry G84 boards.

The Tandberg ones have some kind of cool keys, I think they are dyesubs. You can find the dyesub ones if they have an S model like G84-****S** / S****

P models are pad printed abs, L models are lasered.

Wow, those Tandberg ones are quite something. That keycap shape should avoid the problem ML switches tend to have with tilting and binding when you press on a corner.

There are also various old laptops that use ML and you can find some Dolch units (the ones with a trackpad) with ML switches.

What about desktop keyboards? I've only ever seen one style.
