I'm experimenting by putting the stock black caps on the arrow clusters. Has it become a unicorn vomit board; too complicated?

Definitely not unicorn vomit, think it looks great -- and practical. Nicely done.

My plain old realforce 55g cross posting from my unboxing thread. I love it but definitely wish I could get some colored keycaps for it. This thread makes me want them even worse.

Ive got a nice set coming for my cherry blue board but that thing is almost completely neglected since the realforce arrived.

I am curious as to how the typewrite version even works, since it only has one notch. Wouldn't the notches inside the topre stem prevent it from
fitting properly?

That's exactly what I thought at first too....but I think that the size of the stem on the typewriter keycaps are smaller so that the top part of the keycap stem only touches the bottom part of the notch on the Topre switch stem so the Topre switch doesn't interfere with the lack of a notch on the keycap. Hopefully I'm making some sense. I did have some profile issues though, caused some keys to feel slightly odd because of the oddball profile.

And complement it very well it does! :)

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I'm pretty sure your HHKB Pro 2 is defective. not only did they miss the legend on the Esc key, but your spacebar is deformed.

Negative. I have the non-printed version of the FC66C, with the numbers, backspace, and enter key from my black Realforce 87u.
