logitech g500 for life~

Truly an exceptional mouse. I'm using it right now and feels like the one that will replace my razer copperhead.
I still prefer the shape of the diamondback/copperhead but I wanted a higher DPI sensor and more buttons so...
G500 FTW, now I get why people likes Logitech.

Try the G700... Same sensor as the G500, but wireless and MORE buttons! :P

mm.. I don't use any mouse... so I would say
1) My own creation
2) IBM/Lenovo Trackpoint
3) Kensington Expert Mouse Trackball

Edit:
But if I used a mouse it would definitely be the Logitech M500 wired mouse. (I don't like wireless things that keep running out of battery...)

Razer mice suck ass, they have the worst build quality of any mouse (including the $5 OEM ones), I have tried 6 different models and they all had problems. I have heard many people say theirs failed after a few months. Don't know why people even consider razer products at all, there are better things out there for much cheaper.

I have a G9, and I really like its stepless (optional) scrolling wheel. You can just flick it up or down and momentum will do the rest. I also like the low profile, I'd probably even prefer a lower profile mouse. But the middle mouse button is too hard to press.

I wanted that one but wasn't available here and decided that I would stick to a G500 since I don't really need a wireless mouse (a wireless trackball would be nice tho).

1. Razer Diamondback 3G
2. Razer Copperhead (Current Mouse)
3. RAT3

I seem to have small hands even the RAT3 is too wide for me and cramps my hand quite badly but it's still a good mouse. The copperhead is ok but not as nice as my old diamondback its just that I could get a copperhead and can't get a diamondback 3g. Razer build quallity is the reason I don't still have the diamondback (the right click became impossible to click fast) but I tried the RAT3, CM Storm Spawn (the ring finger rest is my biggest complaint since you can't really have your ring finger in a claw like shape and it is again too wide for me), Lachesis (seemed ok but the Z-axis issue is really irritating), Abyssus (awesome but that cheap ass scroll wheel is rubbish :(), Deathadder too big for me, G400 again too big for me and I basicly sent it back the moment I felt the poor scroll wheel on it.

Based on that and research I never tried the XAI, Imperator or G9x (looked too wide and sensor has built in accel whether i'd notice it or not I don't know, I doubt it).

The diamondback and copperhead shape is much better for me but really i'd want:
Perfect Mouse for me
[/U][/B]

  • Abyssus sensor / CM Storm Spawn sensor
  • Diamondback/copperhead side buttons and 2 on either side, bonus would be RAT3-like DPI up and down button by mouse wheel...
  • On board settings memory
  • On the fly sensitivity (Not DPI as in the lachesis)
  • CM Storm Spawn Scroll wheel (it's really quite nice)/Diamondback/copperhead/lachesis/death adder scroll wheel as they were all good
  • Spawn buttons or Death Adder buttons both were great else the abyssus buttons were alright.
  • A more diamondback-like shape to the Abyssus case

I guess i'll just wait till razer gets bored and rehashes the diamondback...even if they put a phillips fail-eye sensor in it i'd probably buy it :(...

Intellimouse 1.1; for nostalgic value + it's a great mouse, I love how light it is.

or

R.A.T 7; for being infinitely customisable and as a result the most comfortable mouse I've used, I find the thumb/little finger rests unbelievably useful.

I just bought a sensei, and recieved it yesterday. For the first time since I switched to left handed mice, I don't notice my mouse anymore. It's amazing.

The control I have over my games when using this mouse is the best I've experienced, and the control I have over the way the mouse behaves internally is empirically the best.

You can control lift off distance, mouse smoothing, mouse speed, etc.

The only failing of this mouse is one I can quickly get past: you have two dpi settings, instead of the industry standard of 5, and instead of flipping back and forward through the 5 options 1 step at a time, you flip flop between the two with a single button. For a great deal of games where the need to change immediately in game, this is actually superior and requires fewer button presses.

The only particular place where one needs to be able to change those settings at random like that is for those who are incapable of maintaining performance and need to be able to dial it down as gameplay goes down, or for those who just can't make up their mind.

I set mine at 1600 for desktop and games that are cursor based (WoW, Starcraft, etc.), with a DPI setting of about 4200 or so in games like quakelive or when I'm in a tank in BC2 or something, because seriously, those vehicles are intended to be sluggish as crap and it's a good workaround for those.

I'm surprised more people didn't mention the Logitech G500. I've been through so many mice and the G500, to me, is by far the best mouse out there. Only problem I know of with the G500 is the mesh on the cable frays easily but it can always just be removed.

I find Microgear really useful in daily use and I prefer wired as they're generally lighter than battery mice, so G500 is pretty much the best for me (the other contender, G9X, loses as it has fewer buttons). G700 is nice but the battery dies too fast - if I find a suitable cable I could use it wired perhaps take advatnage of the extra buttons. Anywhere Mouse MX still my favorite for mobile.

Yep, mouse tech has levelled off but you can always have improved ergonomics and different styling / random features. I'll keep buying *shrug*

Switched from MX500 to G5r a few years ago, so i'm using this design since i abandoned my Trackball(first Logi Marble, still around) in '02. Tried the R.A.T. 7 a few months ago, but didn't like it.

I think it's better to use a certain mouse (form) for a long time rather that get the newest tech, because many (pro)gamers are far better with the Intelli rather than any other new tech-y mouse, so the tech is sufficient.

The general form of the MX(now Gx Series) is just it for me, exept holding the pinkie up gets a little tiring over time (4h+).

Said G5r is now slowly circling the drain, so i'm looking for a new mouse... think i'll get a Ikari, Sensei/Xai and a G400 and start a shootout (literally) session. If none of these get the job done right, maybe i can pick up a G5r at ebay.

I really like my MX Revolution. My old one broke and I got the Logitech G700 as a replacement. However, as mentioned before, there were issues, like the battery being pretty weak. I also didn't really like having to plug it into my computer to charge. The G700 also didn't have the automatic toggle into free scroll mode like the Revolution did; on the G700, you have to hit a button below the scroll wheel to toggle it on and I found that to be pretty annoying. Anyway, I'm back to the Revolution and love the charging cradle versus that USB cable. I find the document flip for the second scroll wheel near the thumb to not be very useful, though when I played WoW, it was REALLY useful having extra buttons/options on the mouse.
