Ok, everybody's updated.

What's with all the 104 only people "out"?  I'm gonna love this on my WASD next to my completely different looking ABS laser-engraved numpad. It'll look good, I think.

Agreed! Plus, it's really much cheaper.

Because the 104-key title of the thread brought us in, only to find out that the set is switched to 87-key.
If it was tkl from the start I wouldn't have asked.

No, that's a good point, really. I understand that some people were only in it for the complete board, I just sort of heavily underestimated the number of people who want the tenkey-part of their board to match. I think it'd look really good a different colour, especially black.

Now, I wonder: is it possible to do an 87-key or 104 key option? Will SP allow you to do that? (I want 50 sets of the 87 key part, and 30 sets of the tenkey-addon)

Really, I'm only in on this for the A-Z keys, and maybe the function keys as well, but I'd be pretty happy to get the whole set, still.

Let's get this up to 30!

Updated OP with artist's rendering from SP.

Please note: this is NOT the shade of blue we will use. I haven't chosen the color yet, as they are sending me PBT color samples by mail.

If you ever do a lighter colored PBT sublimated group buy, you might want to consider multi colored legends. That would be really cool.

Man... these are going to be sick. Seriously. Although I'm starting to think that white on blue would be better, there isn't enough contrast against dark blue, ask me how I know.

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 27581

There are black legends on those keys, I swear. The ****ty pad printing I got with them by buying off of eBay wore off almost immediately, and the black was what I was left with. The dye subs will be more visible than what I have, but what I have is essentially nothing. Sitting right over it in low light I can't even tell. Its like the touch typist's training wheels lol. I'm not even in this (yet) so don't really take my opinion seriously, but white would look just as good and actually be legible for those that don't like otaku keyboards.

The darker the color of keycap you go, the less the sublimation printing shows up. White would actually show up best. You just can't do anything on completely black, that's the only real restriction. You can do any color you want on dark blue... except dark blue and black.

Note how the colors become less pronounced in this picture from the Portal group buy.

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 27596
Notice how the darkest grey she printed for me is still lighter than the blue you're looking at. A lighter blue would look lame, but black legends on that are going to be like the black on dark grey keys on realforces.

You may want to take me off the list for now, as bad as I want them I can't blow off $100 on keycaps right now. When do you need to know by?

No offense, KBL but the pictures you took need some serious color calibration. ;) Here's another pic from SP for their ABS keycaps, I would assume that the color codes match up the colors pretty well, though. I can't quite make out the writing on the one, but I think the BFD in this image is the sample on the bottom right in the first image and the bottom left in the second image. That seems impossibly dark to see black letters on. I agree with some of the others, I think black on that dark of a blue will be too hard to read. I had the black on dark grey Realforce and the legends were way too dark to read with any ease. I do like the color, though, but a white or maybe even gray legend would look a lot better, IMO.

@gimpster, I'd say your pics need calibration - that looks WAY darker than my sample (both in photo and real life). In real life black on my color is VERY visible.

In order to make correct color adjustment, you need a grey card or a WhiBal card.  No digital camera can do it right.  If I had the color sample I would take and post color-corrected pictures.  But I don't.

Ask them to send you BFD (PBT) then.

It really does look like it does in my pics in real life though. Especially the first pic on white.

I don't appreciate spreading incorrect FUD in this thread. If you couldn't see the legend, then you wouldn't be able to see it in the pic I posted!

I feel VERY confident that this is what the keycap will look like:

BTW for the guy who asked, yes, the set comes with a spacebar.

Take a look at the colored topre keys on elitekeyboards.com. The legends are practically the same color as the sharpie.

LOL!  It is Dell 3008WFP with S-IPS.  All my color-corrected pictures show up correctly on this monitor I am looking at.  It is your pictures that are off.  In any case, the 2 pictures that ripster pulled together (above) from yours demostrate at least one of them's color is wrong, potentially both are wrong.

So then how many are wrong in the post where I posted 5 of them?

Dark or not, the difference IMO is more in lighting than color. In any case, the lettering is still clearly visible, which is what the initial complaint was about.

The problem is you can't tell unless you have the color plastic next to the picture on your monitor, and assuming your monitor is calibrated correctly.  The 5 new pictures you posted all have similar color for that piece of plastic.  But, your white cherry keycaps are very yellow.  Unless they are really that yellow in real life, then your color of the 5 pictrures are consistant, but could all be off.

The new pictures show a different color than the first pic.

Then we asume it isn't that dark but in my Dell IPS it looks lavender too as litster said. Is on this picture the BFD?

I think that if you could make a pic with daylight people would be able to see the real colour. BTW I like the colour on the last pics.

Frankly, I think if it is included in there, then the color must be off on SP's photo too.
