Yea. My gf is actually getting very angry at me over the amount of money I have been spending on Keyboards/Key caps.

insane shipping speed. imsto, i juz received my package in the mail. package was, i muz say, very well padded. box rolled up in a sheet of bubble wrap and then wrapped in a gunny sack. the keycaps look good. the mounting holes on the spacebar unfortunately wasnt the same width apart as the one on my DAS though.. e rest is all fine.. planning to use them only after i give this keyboard a complete wipedown. :)

Any pics of a set installed on a Filco?

Curious: Why is there a purple-on-black but not a white (or close to white)-on-black?

Bummer.  I always the Das spacebar had the same mounts as the Filco/Rosewill/DuckyABS.  Added this pic to the Key Reference Wiki.

yeah kinda disappointed that i can't use the spacebar on my DAS. if im not able to find a PBT spacebar that fits my DAS i'll prob get a Filco juz to use those keycaps.

anw imsto said he'll check out his DAS and see if the mounts are indeed different. my DAS Ultimate was bought through a group buy on a local forum around three years back.. so im wondering if thats e case for the different mount. but i doubt that DAS would even bother to change the mount position, there wouldnt be a point in doing that..

DHL small package still does some stuff in the states, otherwise they are the biggest freight forwarder in the world by a very large margin.

Yeah, Imsto I'd like my 10% back please for the brain cells I'll kill getting the goop off.

The keys aren't that much thicker than Filcos but are quite a bit stronger.

I'll measure with a micrometer and scale and post results in the Key Reference Wiki.
Is there any significant sound difference?  How would they compare to Cherry Co. doubleshots?  Thanks, Ripster!

I have a question.  On some of the key cap sets, why are the Num Lock, Backspace and Scroll Lock keys in a different font?  It's there on a couple of them, but it's easiest to see on the purple-on-black set.  Those 3 keys have a Futura-like font while the others are Helvetica.  The engraved sets and the gold-on-black don't seem to have that problem, though.

That said, these PBT caps are the truth.   If you're on the fence, let me just say that you are missing out by not getting a set.  They aren't Topre caps or Cherry double-shots, but they kick a lot more ass than Filco or SP.  I love them on my Ducky.

Let the haters hate.

One of the issues I had with my ducky 9008g2 initially was getting used to the PBT keys, but I was sold after my first day of typing.  They're light, solid, and FAST.

This.  They're a little weird because they sound like something thicker, sort of like Cherry lasered keys, but they are light and thin like Filcos.  It's a good combination, I think.  In any case, I think they are some of the best third-party caps on the market, especially if you go with the engraved.  The printed versions are OK, but I have some concerns on the longevity of the print.  Mine are OK after about a month or so, but it doesn't seem like the print would be too durable.

Oh, and my spacebar hasn't even started going shiny yet.

I may be wrong thinking earlier these were lasered - no Brad Pitts.  Looks to me like the letter is just part of the injection molds.

I think your hypothesis is correct.  The caps are fairly thin.  If a laser gouged a legend into the plastic, you would think the plastic in the legend would be paper thin and have a high risk of failure due to cutting a hole into the cap; looking at rip's pic, the letter engraving is fairly deep.

No, it depends on laser power, focus, gases (which might produce different colors) and speed of movement.

Still I wonder whether the grey-on-white and gold-on-black are lasered or printed.

The gold-on-black is laser-burned with a pad-printed legend over it as far as I can tell using a magnifying glass...

and scratching the pad printing off of a spare ESC key I have.

It produces a bit of permanence, but it does not totally stop legend wear.
