I thought I bought enough to cover the plate GB and then have some to sell after, but I didn't. I'll probably put up a form sometime soon to order a second round.

Any chance of running another round of Poker plates as well?

Maybe

They're stainless steel, you can't anodize them. Why do they need to be colored anyways?

[IC] Cherry Switch Top Removal Tool
« Reply #115 on: Thu, 03 January 2013, 09:44:42 »
Just received my plates and tools.
I have a question regarding the tool though; how am I supposed to use it? I put the tool in the only logical way and try to squeeze it loose and or try to pull the top up, but I can't for the life of me get both sides to open up at the same time. I feel challenged :))

yes, get out pls

1) insert the legs into the sides of the switch body, like dis:

Then pinch them enough to lift the legs of the switch top. Pull up and the switch should be disassembled

Don't worry about it =) I'll see if I can get it working for me. I'm sure there is some fine detail I'm just missing when doing it. I'll try the other set of tools to see if it might be a tight fit on one of the sides or something. No worries I'm just joking too ;) .

Edit: Yup. The other set of tools fit perfectly and pulled the switch right out :).

If you ever decide to have a 2nd round, I would definitely be in.

Also, would you consider making plates for the KBT Race? (It feels too light after using the Filco :P)

So after more testing, one set of tools work perfectly, the other set just won't because the one tool is too thick to fit well enough in the slots. Hmmm now who do I know that has a belt sander/grinder.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure that I tested each pair to see if they fit in the slot. You would also hand sand it if you have ~10 minutes to spare.

Actually I just had a closer look at the tools, and the tool that helped me remove all the switches on my Poker in about five minutes while being distracted seem a little thicker than the tools that slip out when trying to remove the switches. So it seems like the tools that aren't working simply have too small "teeth" to "grab on" to the slots. And trust me, I've been trying different angles and pressures and pushing them into the switches and wiggling.

I'll add a picture just for comparison.
The top two pieces are from the set that works without issue. The bottom set just slips out even if I try to shove them down into the slots.

11325-0

It's an excellent tool, and I love the set that works. Keep up the great work =).

find two pairs of reverse action tweezers and bend them with some pliers. not as precise as what The_Beast is offering, but it beats using paperclips until he runs another round.

example - (not my picture, as I bent mine a long time ago and didn't get any 'before' pictures)

after

you want it to look like the one on the right. the reason why I specify reverse pressure tweezers is due to the narrower (and therefore weaker) middle part, which makes it easier to bend into a flat angle.

word of caution, the tweezers on the top left - that will work too, but it will ruin your cherry switch housing on account of being too sharp.
