I did never ask. Imso runs group buys for laser engraved keys from time to time.

If the legends are the same color as the key caps, you can have blanks instead. There will be no difference.

Yep! The reason was that PBT shrinks when cooling and that requires the forms to be a bit larger ...

Well, I'm just saying we've had two rounds with centered and bold big letter double shot keys that sure look vintage.  Seems like it's time to do something different more modern like the OTD guys.

I'm not that fond of the color mix but the font placement and style is more modern.

It's the aesthetics. Some things just don't look good. I'm sure we can somehow apply the golden ratio to keycap lettering.

I've heard that they had to do two seperate productions due to lack of grey material and that caused a slight difference in some of the greys in the mods.

ps: They were targeting for dark blue legends(Wyse keyboard replica) in the beginning while it ended up being light blue.
