What makes a Topre more quiet?
« on: Fri, 25 March 2011, 13:43:25 »
What does "silent" or "low noise" mean in terms of a topre mechanism? (91Ubk-S) Is it a lighter switch? Dampened?  I'm not sure, and I didn't see where it was discussed in the wiki. Thanks!

I think the foam ring dampens the rebound of the switch, but as a result of this mod the switch actuates earlier.

The foam rings are factory installed?

Next time, for the ultra silent, they should remove the spring.
