@Ripster, those "engraved" keys look great! I know I'm way too lazy to keep them cleaned properly over the long term though, so I'll opt for something without all the oil and dirt traps.

@imsto, If the white blanks are coming, will black blanks come too? It would be a great alternative to the engraved or "white/white" or "black/black" combinations. I would definitely spring for a set of white blank with black blanks if they're both available.

I ended up just buying a Ducky Tiger Edition with Blues, so I won't need to buy these extra engraved.

lol then engraved keycaps are lasered, but it's hard to control the time, there'd a lot of experiments to try to do that.

Found gummed tape today, it was very difficult to find around here. Anyways thanks for the suggestion imsto, works very well.

It produces a bit of permanence, but it does not totally stop legend wear.

I have a Filco tenkeyless with browns and a Realforce 103UB. I really like the feel of the PBT caps on the Realforce and I'm open to trying alternative keycaps on the Filco. I also ordered Doubleshots (round three) but I guess it'll be June before I see those

So do these PBT sets fit Filcos perfectly? On the Doubleshots III thread there's a post which compares the height/side profile of the key caps row-by-row to the stock Filco caps but I don't recall seeing a direct comparison in this thread. Do these keys significantly change the angles/heights much? Are they a good match for original Filco?

I know these keys might go on anything with a Cherry switch, but are Filco/Ducky/Leo all building boards with the same inter-row elevation change and key shape? I'd think that there would be some variance and changing caps to something with a different profile could change the feel of the board entirely. No?

I've thought about buying a set but I'm not a big fan of the engraved and I'm assuming the others are not as good as cherry corp. double shots.

Thoughts? Anyone want to change my mind?

Filco is the lavendar one. You can see the difference in texture. I kinda like the Filco satin finish but Shiny Spacebar Haters don't.

Well that's good to know, I guess. One thing I'm a little concerned about with the round 3 doubleshots is that the caps are shorter than stock. In the photos of a Filco with the new caps fitted you can now see the bottom edge of the caps. One thing I hate is when I can feel like fingers getting "caught under" neighbouring keys a little bit if I get sloppy. Some laptops are really bad for this. With this relatively tall Filco stock keys this can never happen. I hope it doesn't start to become a problem with those doubleshots combined with the 4mm key travel.

I'm really thinking about picking up a set of those gold on black keycaps but $60 seems a bit steep for a set of key caps. These do look nice and all though. Are these any nicer to type on? Are they any thicker than the standard Filco keycaps?

For a right-out-of-the-box set that fits Filco, Ducky, and Leopold (sans the spacebar, apparently); you would be hard-pressed to find a better key set than these, especially NIB. Cherry double-shots are better and are probably the best Cherry keys on the planet, but they are difficult (and expensive) to find a new set and you might have to work a little to complete a set that will work on non-Cherry-made 'boards. I have had my Ducky for a little over a month, and I haven't seen anything that would indicate any type of key wear, even on the spacebar.

The gold printing seems a little dubious to me, but I haven't seen any wear as of yet on my set; however, I have only had mine for a month or so. Personally, I would step up to the engraved set. That said, the gold-on-black does look nice.

It's not really "gold," either. It's more of a Khaki color. Still, it looks very nice.

Finally received the keycaps today... The box is damaged but luckily they keycaps are safe. :|

Anyhow, I replaced my keys and they feel so much better to type on. Firmer and thicker.

Thicker aside, you can get blank, black PBT caps from PCHome. They're Ducky-branded, but they're the same caps.
