Real Force 87U for 400 dollars?
« on: Wed, 13 July 2011, 20:58:12 »
I got tens of people ask me about Realforce 87U, Now I find a few and believes those are real. But price end up to be about 400 dollars for one. If I order a couple of them might broke down to 380....It is still too high?

I have no idea why people keep asking about 87U.....

It's like Filco 87 Red - hard to find. What kind of 87U can you get? 45g, 55g, variable? What color?

I bet EK is stuck with a bunch of 86Us in storage and haven't sold them all, therefore is not ordering any 87U from Japan for sale.

People keep asking about the 87U because they want the latest version, not the tired old 86U and 103U that Elitekeyboards keeps selling.
If it's the latest version, why is it also hard to find in Asia?... Is it hard to find in Asia?

It is limited vision. The only way you could get it is group up to 50 and place order to the factory then they make it.

I did hear someone in China did that for 2 run. That is why I could get a offer.....I mean I did get before, just not from a good source now thit is is good.

Hi qtan5370,

Do you still have access to the keyboard?
I might be interested.

As long as it's a variable one.

How long would it take for delivery once the order is placed?

Yes, still can get it. Both white with regular caps and black with engraved caps, 87u or 103u.

Delivery based on your location. For this high value item, I might send via UPS/FedEx International with insurance, don't worry, it won't be every hight, if to U.S, just 25-30 dollars I believed.

It is variable one.

Hi qtan5370,

I would probably be more interested in the 87U white but just to make sure before I make the final decision, when you say "black with engraved caps," do you mean black keys with black ink? or are the keys really engraved?

Thanks

Those term is a little confusing but I am sure it is only black caps with black ink now.

As I know, a Chinese company order 50 RF87U/103U from Factory with difference model, actually, they make two order(but total would be last than 100 for all model). I can confirm that they are real and officially sold in China.

I might have missed something here, but I e-mailed the guy who sent the Topre coloured keycaps for the recent group buy about ordering Realforce keyboards from Leopold.
He said that he can get what I wanted, so I'd assume that he can also get the 87U. The 87U is 360,000 KRW which is $340 US. I doubt shipping would run you more than 60 dollars.

Depend on the exchange rate, then add PayPal transit fee, Tax, I did not end up for a lot earning. I would give a different price if you paid on RMB.

You are welcome to buy from that guy, it is a free market. My price is based on Chinese open market price.

Thanks 002 for the info.

It's tempting to try to get the keyboard for cheaper but it's been such a pain to find that keyboard that I think I'm going to take the jump with qtan5370.

I don't want to try to save some money and end up with nothing.
This keyboard seems like the white whale of keyboards.

I do really appreciate the information. By the way that was good thinking. I never thought of e-mailing that guy in my search for the keyboard.

With respect to qtan5370, who has been nice enough to organise this for you all, I don't think the 87U is as difficult to obtain as most people would have you believe.

The board has been commercially available in both colours (black and white), in low noise and standard and also in variable and 55g force on Leopold for quite some time (I got mine around this time last year).

It's not so much a matter of rarity, but rather a matter of how much you're willing to pay to get one.

Just double confirm the white is SE070s, Silent+variable. Well, the price is market price, that's it.

I am just help people and point out a way they can buy, I have no comment either high or low price. :music:

That was true until elitekeyboards stopped carrying 87U a year or so back, and until around May 2011, when leopold.co.jp sold out their 87U stock.  At that time, leopold.co.jp said new 87U stock would be available in late June, then July, then they stopped selling to outside of Japan when they started their "office construction", and started referring potential customers to leopold.co.kr.

002,

Did you get it from the korean or japanese website?

I was directed by another member a while back to the korean website. He told me he ordered it through them.
I contacted them and they referred me to the japanese website which doesn't seem to be working (at least when I click to it through google).

Also do you know what the difference is between standard and low noise?
Is the standard version noisy/clicky? I thought it was a membrane with springs underneath so how noisy can it be?
