Truly serendipity. I Google searched "mechanical keyboard grey keycaps" and the Top Google Ad displayed was wasdkeyboards.com Custom Keyboards. Options include switch type, keycap color or blanks for each and every key on the board. No info on keycap material (ABS, PBT, DS...) but they offer font choices as well as a set of six templates of keyboard cap color layouts to get you started. Base price of $139. Looks like they just launched the site July 23rd/24th, 2011. WhoIs info lists a California locale.

Here's hoping the quality and service is as good as the initial look and feel of the website...

I was interested until I saw that they only produce full size and that they have no actual real pictures of any of these keyboards just renderings

hmm,$139....enough to get some sets of keycaps and make the combination by myself....but the stabilizer and the spring are easily found.

Fun!

Looks like an easy way to get different colors/fonts on keycaps, as well as select a switch. I'd be curious about the keyboard controller and what features it has other than NKRO. Sounds like the price is about right. Although I'm not sure how it's different/better than any other keyboard.

They could use a little geekhack help sourcing for the market sweet spot -- the recent "Phantom - Interest Check" post comes to mind.

This is awesome, I might be purchasing from these guys instead of buying a Ducky keyboard. I'd love to support a company that makes keyboards in the USA, especially one that's 20 minutes away from my house.

I would guess this is the same as wasdkeyboards that has popped up on ebay recently with all of the different color keycap sets. The custom printing option looks promising even if it is pad printing, as long as they do oneoff sets for less than SP they are a winner.

I am tempted and torn. GH has me totally addicted now - 4 keyboards in 30 days and I'm buying keycaps now; 4 sets of DSs so far! Wanted to buy 2-3 sets of DSs in the style of 356CL & 356CL Dark Grey but finding a source for all is indeed a journey. If I could get this already installed on a mech board with blue switches I think I could go cold turkey for at least for a bit...

I called. Tenkeyless next year. They don't manufacture any parts, they sell, then order everything and assemble.

Sounds like they buy case + board with switches you choose, then assemble the whole thing with whatever custom key cap scheme you like. I'd rather buy a Leopold or an RK-9000 and do it myself.

They will be offering other languages soon. This is good news for some of us that want a difficult to find or non-existant keymap. I will finally get a Russian set without having to pay SP thousands of dollars.

Also they sell costar stabilizers, which some had asked about in the phantom thread.

I ordered from their eBay store a 104 set of keys. They are VERY fast to respond and ship to any inquiries, that's for sure.

BTW anyone looking into it, $40 for mix and match colors seems reasonable to me; does anyone know if that's a good or bad deal?

Unlike TE, they have an address, answer emails and their phone.

They are halfway there already.

So their strength is in the custom legends/colors of the keycaps, right? The keyboard itself is a standard as standard gets for mechanicals.

If anything, I liked their keyboard customizer. It allowed me to play around w/ color combinations to see which ones I really liked.

I see that they have sets and individual keys for sale. I'll see how much they want for my "custom" set up.

They even allow DUAL LEGENDS in different colors, font style, and font size! Symbols, arrows, and even words are supported, this is so cool! And only 1-2 business days to put it together, that's amazing.
