The Escape key idea is new...

We had: Caps Lock, Control, Symbol, Rub Out, and Back Space.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Blanks delay the keycaps delivery!

Just kidding!

There will be blanks to go with any color in the group buy.

I will set something up in the fashion of Round 3.

You might as well order them from WASD since they offer blank sets and individual keys in a couple of colors

hey, can you fix up SVG files so that they are black with transparent backgrounds and get them sent over to 7bit?

Do that and I'll edit the thread to redirect to this one (R4) so 7bit can start taking orders.

I changed the files linked to in that post.  Not sure if I need to actually send them to 7bit (or how I would go about doing that), or if he can just download them from the links.

Let me know.

They will not look like the LED windows on Cherry key caps.
They will not be double shot.
They will not be cheap.

Are there pictures of what they look like? I seem to recall that these were available in Round 3, but I may be mistaken. Any rough idea on the cost?

I've got to look up the price quotes. You can have custom shapes (rectangle or circle) but these must be above or below the keymount and are only on top of the key (unlike Cherry).

Yes, labels don't have anything to do with keyboards, it's all software...

So basicly ISO-layouts work on ISO-boards. Japanese, make some specials though...
So I should add something useless here yes? Ok, ok...

That'd be fine with me. I'd just hate to lose the status light, at the very least for Caps Lock. Scroll Lock isn't that important to me. I mean does anybody use Scroll Lock anyway? 20 years I've been using computers, 13 years of that in software dev/test and I've never had an occasion to use it...in fact, I vote for having a Scroll Lock replacement key that says "Launch Missiles". Maybe then I will actually press it occasionally. :)

Can they do doubleshot with clear for the legend? Might be an interesting alternative for caps and scroll lock.

I don't mean to derail this thread but I agree w/ you 100%.  The two keys I use the very least (Caps and Scroll Lock) are tied to a visual indicator (light) and I feel it's a misplaced use of resources.  Outside of making the lights blink on and off, I'd never use these keys.  I, too, would like to rename these keys.  Perhaps "Light Switch", "Pew Pew" or perhaps "SHOUT" (for the Caps Lock) would be a better use for the keys.

"Launch Missiles" is good.  I also like "Destroy" or "Room Service".  :)

Sorry, just me ranting.  Carry on.  :)

That's not a bad idea. Are you swapping the escape and caps lock keys? If you are then presumably you'd also need a small caps lock key to replace the esc key.

Alternatively, you could have a caps lock key with a Vim symbol on it.

Also, it would be cool if the Linux kit could include hjkl keys with small arrow symbols on them for vi and vim users.

One further thought - there are a couple of Linux layout options offered by Unicomp (link). Could the Ctrl, Caps-Lock and Esc keycaps required for those layouts be incorporated into the Linux kit?

With caution and patience. :) This round is just getting started, you have plenty of time yet and the details are still being updated.

Please include Danish layout (as in round 3), and ISO RGB modifier kit (ISO sized left and right SHIFT).

Me. I'll second that.

Also, quick question on the Star Wars keys: These will be of the profile that fits Filco, right? I wanna get quite a few pairs, but they gotta fit the Filco/Poker profile.

Hi guys,
I've got G80-3000 LSCDE (iso layout) keyboard. If I want to replace my keys (I do not want the german ones) I should buy Standard kit and J-shape return plus 1.25 units shift, right? And what about the spacebar?
Will it fit?

Thanks for clarification!
