I will never figure out why people try to use old Cherry keys on new keyboards.
Because the old Cherry keys are better than the keys that come with a new keyboard. It's one of those "sum of the parts" things... I took a Filco, a G81 board, and a G80 POS board; the first being good, the second being ****e, the third being OK but a little flexy and unaesthetically appealing, and combined them all. The result is my favoritest keyboard ever, I think I like it even better than my previous gold standard, the venerable Model M.
If you didn't guess, the recipe was to take the Filco, and put the sliders and springs from a POS board with clears in it, and then top it off with some doubleshots harvested from the G81. Feels better than any of the three boards did originally, and the sound is so nice, just a nice deep "thock" when the keys top out.
