Any possibility of a smaller RGBY kit for standard keyboards with just the 1.5x versions of control, alt, super and meta and the only redundant key being the left shift which would have both ISO and ANSI versions?

Here are the new kits (layouts come later ...)
Code: [Select]

RGBY100      | 12|  6|RGBY kit (1 unit keys)
RGBY100WIN   | 12|  6|RGBY kit (1 unit keys)
RGBY125      | 12|  9|RGBY kit (1.25 units keys)
RGBY125WIN   | 12|  9|RGBY kit (1.25 units keys)
RGBY150      | 12| 12|RGBY kit (1.5 units keys)
RGBYSH125    |  1|  1|RGBY kit (1.25 unit Shift)
RGBYSH150    |  1|  1|RGBY kit (1.5 units Shift)
RGBYSH175    |  1|  2|RGBY kit (1.75 units Shift)
RGBYSH200    |  1|  2|RGBY kit (2 units Shift)
RGBYSH225    |  1|  2|RGBY kit (2.25 units Shift)
RGBYSH275    |  1|  2|RGBY kit (2.75 units Shift)

I'm interested in having yellow super and meta keys but it's a pretty big jump from RGB's 14 keys @ $10 to RGBY's 36 keys @ $28 and even in the RGB kit there is redundancy in the modifiers (though I understand they are there in one kit to increase the number of orders for it).

No spaceleo for SPH from what I can tell, right? Also in the graphic for SPH, the return and both shifts don't take up the full space. Are they actually smaller than normal size or is that just a funny graphic?

SPH/SPACE is the 6.25 units space bar for Filco/Cherry/Leopold.
SPH/SPACEUNI is the 7 units space bar for old Cherry keyboards.

it is just a funny graphic. In reality, the difference bretween 2.5 and 2.75 units is not that big. Same for 2 and 2.25 units.

I was in for bianco before it got cut so I'll probably end up going for either SPH/TKL and/or DARK/ORANGE with DARK/RGB or DARK/RGBYstandard if you can make that smaller RGBY kit, because otherwise it's $18 to just get the extra 2 super keys and 1 meta key.

You better go for SPH/TKL !!!!

Hi, what size backspace key would I need for a UK Filco Majestouch2? Would it be RETRO/BACKSPACE175 or RETRO/BACKSPACE200?

Get the RETRO/BACKSPACE200 .

The other is for the Caps Lock key position.

All main sets have reached 25 orders already except for the DARK one, and there will be no drop off before the price quote as well.
That means you can give it a try right away. Especially if you want a DARK set !

Mainly I just want the last few keys I couldn't get last time (blank black keys for the oddball-shaped ones on the right side), but things keep getting rearranged so I'm just going to wait a while to see if they're even available anymore. I was thinking about getting a backup set with actual letters in case I get tired of this, since Dvorak keys are available, but the more I think about it the less I want to have as much invested in the keycaps as I do in the board itself ;)

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason these are done in these sizes for spherical rather than the traditional size? Too hard to make sphericals that big?

The manufacturer doesn't have molds in those sizes, and making a new mold costs a million zillion dollars.

Think I'll go for both! Just to make sure, the difference between RGBY125 and RGBY125WIN is that the key is labelled Super instead of Win? Also, hope I can get Colemak sets for both of these. PM sent for the following.

SPH/TKL
SPH/SPACE
SPH/COLEMAK
DARK/TKL/ORANGE
DARK/SPACE
DARK/COLEMAK/ORANGE
DARK/RGBY125
DARK/RGBYSH225
DARK/RGBYSH275

RETRO/RGBYSH225/WHITE
RETRO/RGBYSH275/WHITE

EDIT: Whoops, forgot to put my email address in the actual PM. Sent it again with a 1 at the end of each item to make sure the quantities are right.

7bit mentioned the cursor arrows would get included as graphics in the std kits, but I don't recall that for the 'win' keys.

I'd assume they're in, but seems from the wiki you will get keycaps with text to fit those, not graphics.

Correct.  There's a separate WINDOWS addon kit for Microsoft fanboys.  The "Windows" and menu keys that are included in the standard kits have text labels saying "Super" and "Meta".  And that is a good thing.

No, they can make them any size, just in the days when they used the spherical molds, they did not need all rows and sizes which are necessary for a modern^wconventional keyboard.

There exist a 2.25 units key but it comes whith a matte top, instead of semi-matte. There is no 2.75 units key, etc.

We've got to lve with what they've got. The 6.25 and 7 units space bars are expensive enough for the start. We will let them make the other keys along with later group buys.

The only thing you had to do was to send another message with just your e-mail address and nothing else!

Also, I've seen people think they must include it every time.

Nope!

Just once is sufficient.

Yes, you can order WINDOWS and APPLE separately. You can also get the COMMAND key.

Just take a look into the wiki.

We have all kinds of textless arrowup, arrowdown, handbag and backspace keys. Why not textless Enter? Or is JRET textless? Also textless Tab would be great. I'm not the only one who wants that.

Cherry G80-3000?
...

Just order (send a message to 7bit_R4):

NOIR/BLANKSTD
NOIR/SPACE

Because it contains blanks for the Noir style, all keys are real black.

Maybe I should set up something for blank keys, which is easier to handle ...

I don't have any SVG for doubleshot or any other method to make it.

Also, I've almost forgotten about to ask around who can do some.

My plan is to make it without the LED window; I'm assuming that's a no-go from SP.

Are there any specific requirements on the SVGs? I looked at the Moogle2SVG that was posted here earlier; the Windows logo was a simple filled area, but the others were 0.1 mm strokes, which seems a bit thin to get cast.

Edit: Not that I'm doing any for myself. Just curious. BTW, the Cherry logo is easily snarfed from a Cherry datasheet PDF.

I also don't know if makes a difference but this will be for a EU/US Cherry G80-3000 board; I know the DE version may have different size caps on Enter etc..

Do I still order the same thing you recommended?

I think that would be interesting for those mooglers who combine keycaps from many keyboards and seek for a balanced look. As for the Round 3 style, I really think that the text version is better.

So, please order:

NOIR/ARROWDOWN175
NOIR/ARROWUPMOD
NOIR/BACKSPACE200

In fact that should be in a extended moogle kit, together with textless JRET, textless Tab and a cool |\-key for us european ANSI-converters.

I thought of something like that. I will see what I can do about those arrows.

Once I've drawn one arrow, I can do all of them.

ok fair enough.

However although i am not comfortable spending anymore, i am willing to order a one half mod kit, and hopefully to get that free replacement key to ship along with that as well.... but until now i did not get any confirmation for my order..... ( i understand that the mistake was on SP's part .. so alright no biggie as long as i can get the replacement key )

It's been a few months already, i've been very patient so i hope this can be settled sometime soon ....

I got a colemak kit i can't use, so i'm a little bit upset right now -.-; especially after committing to the previous mo and get ignored in pm when asking about getting the one half mod kit which i need to fix it .... ( i don't particularly need the one half mod kit, just only the 2 ctrl and alt keys, but whatever, i'll buy the whole one half mod kit if need be )

I'd pm but so far my pm has been ignored :/

Still waiting for a reply regarding this :/  7bit or Imav.

so what do I need to do gets keys for my 7bit layout (yes the layout is "finished" but its nearly complete) as I think this would be the cheapest way to key compatible keycaps. I assume that 5 sets with proper legends would be crazy expensive from SP.

I want to get a RGBY set (no letters on RGBY colors) for my Filco, standard layout. But I'm confused looking at the kit name. What kit should I order in my case?
Also, is the NOIR/RGBY different from the RETRO/RGBY?

Hey 7bit,

I know that there is a lot of requests for stuff, but is the OTD keyboard set going ahead?

I wanted a Fn key for my Poker (Dark key/Blue text) to go with the RGBY kit. I know there's little chance of this but it never hurts to ask :)
