I guess I'll chime into this conversation.

The G9X is really the first serious mouse I have owned, but what's not to love about this mouse? It's very good looking, performs well, and doesn't have six thousand extra buttons on it that just get in the way.

I use Razer Mamba and Logitech G700. I replaced the switches in the both mice with Omron Japan switches D2F-01F (the existing switches are from the same company but made in China with different model number D2FC-F-7N). After the mods the switches feel lighter and more springier, thus puts less stress on my fingers.

The mod article is in Korean, but I think pictures pretty much tell what needs to be done.

Logitech G700 mod - http://www.kbdmania.net/xe/2857366

Also, I sometimes use Kensington Expert Mouse and Slimblade Trackball. When I use them it is usually on the left side of my mini keyboard.

I have tried a few mice in years past and for some reason really, really like the Microsoft 4000.  It is the cheap one that is always on sale on an end display rack in about 25 different colors and designs.  I have three of them and one of the three is the best - no noise whatsoever on the click.  Just a tiny bump feeling.  Fits well to the hand, responsive and just super quiet.  Love that mouse.
Current in order of preference:  RealForce 87U Silent White with variable weighted keys X 2, Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless with Linear Reds, Filco Number-pad, Poker with Linear Reds

Sold or returned:  Multiple Microsoft and Logitech keyboards, Das Keyboard Silent, Cherry 6140, RealForce 103UB, RealForce 86U, Filco Majestouch 2 full sized with Linear Reds

Razer Imperator has served me most dilligently, but I only use it for gaming.

In all other cases I use Apple Magic Trackpad because I value gestures for efficiency over precision.

At my last job they gave us all  Logitech scissor switch keyboards and HP Voodoo DNA gaming mice

Wasn't a huge fan of the keyboard but fell in love with the mouse so much that I bought one myself. It doesn't put strain on my hands the way the smaller Logitech gaming mice I've owned has, and seems to be a better fit for my larger hands.

Runner up would have to be the Logitech trackman wheel, which is super comfortable and doesn't require my to move my wrists.

I generally go out of my way to install and use tiling window managers, tiling plugins or just memorizing or adding as many keybindings as I can so I rarely have to touch the mouse

I have a Razer Abyssus (Starcraft II), G700 (Everyday Use), and G400 (Replaced my MX518 on my secondary PC).  Abyssus is the only mouse that doesn't cramp my hand when I have high APM for SC 2.  I wish I could stick to the G400 but palm gripping cramps my hand after a lot of clicking.  G700 is fantastic for everyday use and for MMO's.  It is fairly heavy but the ergonomics are pretty amazing and it uses the 5700 DPI avago sensor that, while not perfect, is probably the best of the high-DPI sensors.  G400 is still my gaming mouse a lot of times, the mx518 was perfect and the G400 improves on it a bit by being lighter.

Might get a G9x (sold it for a G700 last year) again as it has the same sensor as the G700 without the weight.

Feels very cheap and the shape is very restrictive, the glossy coating gets very sticky but not veryone will like that feeling.

Used to love my G5r. Its pretty much done after 4 years of punishment, so i'm using my replacement MX518 now, but this one has a very high pitched tone that gives me a headache (literally, i have to wear headphones to use it).

Now i'll give the claw/palm grip hybrids (pinkie/ringfinger rest) a try because i kinda like the feeling (and to reduce strain since i log long hours on a PC): ikari, spawn, naga.
I'll also try a G9x and a DA on the claw side... keyboardnoob, do you know from personal experience that the DA's break often, or is it a well known fact i should be aware of?

I managed to get a good deal on the Logitech G9 a couple of years back.  No regrets.  The changeable grips, adjustable weights, and durability of the mouse and cable have made this the best non-trackball mouse I've ever used.  Had a bad experience with a Razer Copperhead in the past, though, so I would suggest going for a Logitech over a Razer in almost all cases, although I hear some of their newest mice are quite good, but I couldn't say for certain.

I just bought a Razer Deathadder to give that a try.  I've had a G9 for about 3 years, and it has my favorite mouse for general use and gaming.  I also bought a G9X because of that, but I've just heard so many positive things about the Deathadder.  I bought a R.A.T. 7, but I couldn't get used to it due to the size.

I just bought a Corsair M60, but I haven't received it yet.  I almost ordered a Logitech G9X, because I like my G9, but I decided to buy a M60 and Razer Deathadder instead - to try something different and see if I can find a mouse that I like as much as the G9 but is a little more comfortable.

How do you feel the Sensei tracks?  I know a lot of people here say they haven't had tracking problems, but the data really seems clear that the sensei adds some positive acceleration that causes many gamers (including myself) instantly veto it.

I just bought a Deathadder Black due to all the positive reviews.  Does that have the same coating you hated?

Logitech LX8

Mine's been going strong for about 4 years, a couple of months ago I thought it finally broke but I just took a look at it today and it was just a bigass clump of dust blocking the sensor. I like how it has one shoulder button on each side (one for thumb, other one I hit with the side of my ring finger) instead of both being on the thumb side, I can't think of any other mice that have the buttons like that.
