Cool! Please do a little stress testing if possible, I've had plastic key pullers break, and was wondering if wire pullers are more durable.
Your saying you broke a little plastic ring one? I wouldnt ever use those anymore stopped once I found scratches on my keys. Wire ones are much better.

So I just ordered another WASD in blues for the Fiance for Christmas.  I sure miss that free shipping special that was running when I bought the one I'm currently using and really hope it can get here before Christmas ( crossing the country with the cheapest shipping)

Any idea when the reds might be released ? I'm trying to save back a little for an after Christmas purchase but didn't see an update other than mid december skimming the thread.

Near the end of the month was the last that I heard.

The ISO keyboards and Red switches are almost ready for sale. I have them in the warehouse already, but I'm still waiting on the keycaps to arrive. Also, I'm still waiting on my web developer to finish the changes to website so the Custom Keyboard Designer  can support the new format.

However, there is one rather big hiccup: ISO version will not be available in Browns until at least 3-4 months from now. The factory screwed up my order and gave me Blacks instead (which I wasn't going to even for now since they are the least popular).

Wrist rests and wire key pullers are now live. OP updated!

Most of the plastic key cap pullers that come with other "common" keyboards have thinner arms than the ones that we've been selling. For the wire puller, we used a slightly thicker metal wire than that found on Filco key pullers (I do not have a Leopold to compare to). Filco use's 0.75mm diameter metal wire on their keycap pullers, we used a 0.85mm wire. I wanted something a little sturdier as it is something that we use daily here.

Nice, I definitely want some ISO keycaps but I'm not sure if I'd get charged import/customs tax? Same applies if I ordered a keycap puller by itself now? I'm in the UK.

True, that makes yours more durable than others, but also makes them harsher on keycaps and neighboring switches since a lot more force is needed to squeeze your plastic keypuller onto a populated keyboard, and it grips keycaps so tightly you can see it bending them!

Sounds good, wire keypuller is the way to go ... the point I'm most worried about failing is the handle/wire connection by the way.

I pulled on it pretty hard. I'm not superman or anything, but I think I put at least 75lbs of pulling pressure on it and it looks totally fine.

Ok, I'll order, but don't send me the one you did the stress testing on :-)

Red switches for 104-key are now in and available for order! ISO is here, but still waiting on website update. It should be soon, sorry for the lone wait everyone!

BTW, Red switches will be $10.00 more than the other switches, due to a "bandage" type fix to start offering the Cherry MX Reds, Custom Keyboards will temporarily be the same price as other switches at $139.99. Price will be raised to $149.99 when website is fully updated with new pricing rules. So, if you were looking for a red and wanted a custom layout, this is a good chance to save $10.00 on your keyboard.

Thanks everyone!

Any ideas if I'd get hit with customs charges/import tax if I ordered a set of ISO keycaps to the UK and how much it would be if so?

I checked UK's tax rates and keyboards don't have an import tax. I'm not sure if a VAT still applies. It'd probably be best to check with you post office. Please share if you find out any details. Thanks.

Hello,

I was wondering if this price raise applied to ALL the custom keyboards, or just the MX Reds.

I think there might have been some sort of misunderstanding.

From what you quoted i would think onky the reds are going up $10 once the site gets updated.

Props for delivering on your promises from months ago, I know it must be hard to get a business going and keep adding products. Now I just need to decide whether to get reds or blues on my ISO board... Decisions, decisions.

The ISO keycaps and some other parts should be in today. However, I'll make what updates I can on the website to start offering these parts. The Custom Keyboard Designer is still being worked on by the developer.

Is the bandage a fix on the supply side of things or a bandage fix in the construction of the keyboards?  If the latter, what was done?

Bandage fix was on the website. I just added Cherry MX Reds to the Semi-Custom and Custom list since that is an easy change to the site. I was originally going to wait until everything was done and release a bunch of new products at once. ISO keycaps have arrived, but due to the amount of keyboards still in the pipeline, I probably won't have time to post the items until after New Years (which I hope the custom designer will be finished by then as well).

I got Cherry switches (blue, brown, black, red) and the stabilizer clips. Sorry, no time to post items, aside from a few minutes checking emails and geekhack, I'm building keyboards. We should be caught up next week though and I'll get them listed.
