I'm still working on the jigs for the keycap sets, but if you are looking for a blank set, you can just purchase the normal 104 or 87 key sets and put in the comments that you want an ISO version and we'll swap out the necessary keys.

Aw... thanks, I was just about to place my order but it turns out you're out of whites! Just my luck...

same here, I really want some darkgreen Dvorak. The only question is whether to get etched or lasered. Maybe I'll go blank!

It seems right after I ordered, there was a rash of excellent new ideas that I should have done instead of my "any key". Now I can happily try them.

Any word on the progress of some of those sets you mentioned for Jan. 2012?
Specifically the Mac modifiers and HJKL.

All updates have been temporarily delayed to get the 105-key update live ASAP. We're also working on fine tuning our templates and laser settings to get higher accuracy and consistency in printing alignment. This is a pretty lengthy and tedious process as well, but we want to improve our current products before diving into new ones.

Be sure to show a comparison of old vs. new if it turns out well.  People will be interested how much manual tuning of the process can improve things.

I am really looking forward to the new colour choices.

I hope it doesn't delay the new keycap colors, Is that still planned for Q2? I want to wait for the purple before I make my custom keycaps for my phantom.

I searched all of these threads, but didn't see this stated anywhere explicitly:

Have you every tried them? If I'm not mistaken, most people that got Leopolds with clears sold them. Heck, most people complain about cherry blacks being too heavy, so bear in mind clears are heavier (and grittier) than cherry blacks. I wouldn't recommend them, unless you have tried and actually liked them.

I didn't find any grit in the clears (yes, new) and my biggest reason for not typing on the Leopold is those blasted Cherry stabilizers.

I have a solution for cherry stabilizers: Put o-rings on the other keys, makes the entire keyboard feel uniform :-) I've done it on my Poker and like the result.

I have not tried the clears, but have been typing on Model Ms for almost 20 years.  Do like the feel of the browns, but I mistype on them more (it's been a couple of weeks now) and I still type faster overall on the Model M.  I did find them gritty at first, but they got better after some use.

My goal is to find a keyboard with similar feel while reducing the click-clack noise with Cherrys and o-rings for improved WAF (I happen to like the clicks).  My greased Model M is still too noisy after a few hours.  I'm hoping the clears might do the trick, but finding a full keyboard with them is a challenge.  With the awesome configurability of the WASD, I thought I'd ask.

I think I know the answer....

I've tried Clears as well and did not like them either. Like Sordna said, it's just as heavy as the Blacks and just didn't feel very comfortable. I bought it off another GH member in the classifieds :)

Clears are heavier than black but because of their heavyness and the large tactile bump you almost never bottom out once you get accustomed to typing on them. Som people including me rather like them though I think the amount of time it takes to get used to them is greater.

Guess I'll keep an eye on the classifieds.  Don't know if I want to spring for a Leopold or a Deck without having a better idea.

It could be if someone were willing to go through the design process for the symbols and invest in the molds.  SP (Signature Plastics) has stated that they will NOT use their clear plastic as the symbol in their DS key caps.  Their current design is such that the symbol will either be unlit or unevenly lit and they're not going to deal with it.  SP happens to make the Deck keys which are a 2-part key, but even that has its issues (light bleed around the seam).

its weird that we can produce processors with 32nm technology but we fail at making transparent plastic items /sarcasm

It costs something like $1,500,000,000 to get those processors, though. With the sort of money that's put into those (research, etc.) and the money that's got out of it, it's pretty crazy what we can accomplish. There's just a much smaller market for keyboards and keys.

Wow, SP makes those two-piece deck keycaps? Aren't they dyesubb'd PBT top&stem moulded into a shell? I wonder if we colud do a GB of them with custom legends....

It's likely that SP is just the OEM and doesn't have a license to distribute.  Also, if you WERE to somehow do a GB on Deck-style keys, wouldn't you want them to have a proper curved profile? ;)

No! I've been wanting a TG3 BL82 or small Deck, so I can confound my friends with another Dvorak-layout keyboard. 'Course IBM does it best, with the curved plate, but I can put up with a flat layout pretty easily for he efficiency and ability to rearrange inherent in the flat design.

Make your personal molds so that its 2shot (2part). The cap minus legend. And the stem + legend. No weird mesh, they'd have to be stuck together with possibly with some adhesive/solvent.

consumer demand?  sales volume?  Call it what you will, but clears are a niche in an already niche market.
