UPDATE: This has mostly become a project to recreate the iconic vintage cherry legends and use it to create a set of key caps with the Dolch color scheme that would also be available to future GH groupbuys.

As it stands here is the original font (courtesy of Sixty)

Ripster: I'm dead set on recreating these Dolch caps and though I am a newer member and have never done a group buy I feel fairly confident as long as there is enough interest and someone can help me iron out logistics.

Hashbaz: The reason I posted this interest check as opposed to joining R4/ R3 is because I don't want the oversized font but the upper left smaller (less obnoxious d: ) font.

^Ditto, R4 pricepoint was I believe $60-ish for a TKL set of R3 caps, Whiterice's earlier GB was priced at $40, I say stick to the $40 pricepoint. DS or no?

My dolch set is crumbling. DS with cherry corp font on correct position and dark gray almost black contrasting modifiers, and fkeys true to the real deal plz ;)

Rly?  So that's something like $1000 for all 104 keys (the moogle legends and Escape have already been done).

We'd still need 100 people to make that kind of cost bearable per person.

$1040/50 = $20.80+ set cost isn't so bad, probably come to $90 a set

a tenkeyless set you would only need 87 legends and per set is

25 sets          $73.01 / set
50 sets          $52.42 / set
75 sets          $45.56 / set
100 sets        $42.13 / set

with the legend fee you're looking at $70 a set at 50 sets not including shipping from SP to distributor and then to you, probably $10 more

I did my homework for a group buy wanted to do, but dunno if I can attract 50 people as I don't think people would like the 25 set pricing

Don't forget the huge amount of work it would take to hand-craft the Cherry font in SVG form.

That is a lot of obstacles to overcome, but with the popularity of this set I think it has a better chance of getting completed then \KL's set originally had and he was successful in getting enough people. although I know one person did buy multiple sets to get the order going.

The only reason I got that set was because it's PBT. Given the number of people who don't "need" a 100% dolch reproduction, compared with, say, the relatively large number of alternatives for good-looking grey keycaps, I don't think this'll work out well.

Although, if we can get SP to make up molds for the cherry font, it'd make later group buys better off.
