Sinister Hand: http://owenroe.com/wines.php?p=10.

I live across the river from the San Antonio Museum of Art, and they have a tremendous cafe.  Sinister Hand and their Quail Boudin makes for a mighty fine meal.

Holy **** that looks good.

It is the most delicious alcoholic beverage I have ever consumed. I recommend everyone try it if you can find a pub that has it on tap.

As far as krieks/lambics/sours go, I've only tried Lindeman's and a sour that my local brewpub had. Will definitely have to go out and look for more!

There is a brewery in Fort Worth (very close to Dallas, about 40 mins away) called Rahr and Sons.

Not sure how popular they are (if at all) outside of north Texas, but they make really good beer with some ridiculous names like Ugly Pug (black lager) and Buffalo Butt (amber lager).  I'm not a beer connoisseur or anything, but so far that's the best I've had.

Belle-vue is my favourite, they sell cases in the UK, not sure about US, worth it.

Caipirinha, Single Malt Scotch, dark wheat beer. But I'll try anything, from the cheapest mix to the high-end ****. Contrary to the impression the last sentence may give, I don't drink often. Maybe once every two months.

If you're German, try to get your hands on some Andechser Dunkel. It's really good beer.

Yuengling... my favorite.  Too bad the don't sell it where I live, I have to drive like 2 hours just to buy a case.

Prob my favorite grocery store (cheap) beer.  I like both the regular & the darker black & tan.  Sometimes Micahlobs Amberbock to mix it up.

The Yuengling brewery is like a 8 minute drive from my house :D

http://www.yuengling.com/breweries/tampa/

I should go take a tour of it one day.

Saw a lot of tequila talk - a brand that is really good and not well known nor too expensive I think is Gran Centenario.  I was at Wine & More and they were out of the standard stuff so I got a bottle of Roseangel - http://www.deadasweknowit.com/1166827/Rosangel-Tequila

Those were some of the best margaritas I ever had.

Flensburger Pilsener ftw! But I really don't know if it's possible to buy it somewhere else than Germany. Hell, sometimes it's even hard to find in the rest if Germany. But it's a really good beer, and not too expensive.

I like the fact that the legal drinking age for beer and wine is 16 here! Whoo!

But still I sometimes enjoy a whisky. Glenmorangie is one of my favourites.

And when I'm with friends "Hansen Präsident" (That's "Rum Verschnitt", literally "blended rum". A mixture of Jamaican Rum, rectified spirit and water. Cheap, and fine for mixing) with Cola is fine too.

I agree, the Yuengling lager and the Yuengling black & tan are both quite delicious.  The black & tan is much smoother, and I almost prefer it over the lager.  It may be time for me to take a road trip up to New York and buy a case or two.

This thread makes me thirsty.

If you like Yuengling you should try Shinerbock.  It tastes extremely similar except it's brewed in Texas instead of Tampa.  If you ever visit the Tampa area be sure to take a tasting tour of the Cigar City Brewery.

Beer: Corona (damn so small and expensive, but I love it)
Liquor: vodka, tequila, vodka, whisky, vodka, vodka. Vodka + energy drink is very nice, also I like vodka on the rocks with lemons.

I won a blindfolded Yuengling taste test once. The one I ended up liking a lot was Lord Chesterfield Ale.

Maybe he's not old enough to drink? Sucks to be him.

I think I'll be having a beer tonight. Haven't had any for a couple of weeks. Sierra Nevada Celebration, here I come!

I got myself wrecked on some of this filth again recently.

£2.50 for a 3 litre bottle at 7.5%, so 225ml of alcohol.  That's almost as much as a 750ml bottle of vodka, or a similar spirit.  If you're a sick loser like myself that will chug down any foul tasting liquid in search of a "bargain" I highly recommend it.

Had my first Old Fashioned last night! It was surprisingly good. I asked for it with Crown Royal. I guess I'm just a liquor noob but I would cringe every time because of the whisky taste but it was still good. Can definitely taste the sugars and the fruit. Will try again.

I've tried several different types of beer and can't get into any of them.  I think it's probably the alcohol.

What types of beer? Is the alcohol super prevalent in the ones you've tried? There are some beers that have pretty high ABV where you can't taste the alcohol at all.

I'm rediscovering one of my old favorite drinks. Take some light crisp beer like Peroni and drop a shot of Cointreau and slice of lemon in. I've also been into New Belgium Belgo lately.

The New Belgium Belgo looks good! You might want to try looking for Stone's version of a Belgian IPA. Hear that one's mighty tasty. NB's Trippel is very good as well.
