Cherry MX Mech Keyboard Information Survey
« on: Mon, 16 January 2012, 04:28:14 »
Help me poll some information about cherry mx mech keyboards with this little survey I put together.
It's not a school project or anything its just a personal curiosity that I would like to see and share.

Go to this link and fill out the survey.  It will only take you a couple of minutes.

After you filled the survey out feel free to view all the current results with this link.

Once I get enough data in there I will parse it out with some formulas so we can see some of this information graphed.

I kept it short and sweet.

Thanks for participating.

My observations so far:

1.) Very surprised to see nobody choose MX Black as a favorite as on the US market lots of keyboards come in this type and its commonly advertised as the best gaming switch.  Some people like to type with them also.
2.) Also surprised only one person said they need backlight.  ON other computer forums so many people "must" have backlight and even base purchase of a keyboard on how it looks via lights.  Just had somebody the other day buy a Razer keyboard with all the colors in the rainbow and I was like ::facepalm:: do you type on your keyboard or do you plan to wear it out in public as a dress?

I'll continue to update the graphs every few days and also draft up formulas so they can show up on the spreadsheet directly and be updated live.

Done, hopefully you can publish the result soon.
Filco 104U Black (brown MX) Filco 87U White (brown MX), Filco 87U Black (blue MX), Filco numberpad.

I strongly advise you not to buy Ducky keyboard and others because they use cheaper and less responsive stabilizers.

So far only one user that answered YES to backlight keys being important. Epic lulz. I say we hold a geekhack fundraiser so he can get himself a light bulb.

Nice data so far, interesting to see how things play out.

Once we have lots of votes in there I can look for trends on favorite keyboards and see if I can pick the top 3 most favored keyboards.

Some people need it for aesthetic purposes, to each his own I don't judge.

I'll admit while I do not need backlight to type and do not currently use a backlight keyboard I was happy to see it on the KBC Race that I am buying.

For great justice, more votes needed.
