QWER Keys
« on: Sun, 26 February 2012, 14:20:16 »
Hello All,
We will be soon launching a website selling custom keycaps for Cherry MX based mechanical Keyboards in the UK and Europe. Our website will eliminate the need to buy from group buys and you will be able to pay in £'s or Euros and you can expect swift delivery times. Eventually there will be a large range of colours to choose from, but at first we need your help and vote for your favourite colours and styles.
We will be soon putting up a vote for your favourite colours and we would appreciate it if you paid our website a visit once it is up and running.
If you come from the UK or Europe and want your own personal designs on the keycaps we would love to hear from you!

We will probably start off by selling WASD, ESDF,Arrows and QWER + Escape key (5 keys total) for about £5.00 with free delivery. Also may start off with a range of weapons, symbols etc. We would be open to your suggestions as we need to know what you want and what you would expect to pay.

Full sets of keycaps will be there eventually
Please be patient folks we are trying to get something up and running as fast as possible but keep watching this space and asking the questions, leaving your suggestions. I will do my best to get back to everyone.

It will be nice if you add some of these questions to your first post (FAQ), in order to save you some time answering the same questions.

The site is ready and will be up hopefully in the next month. We just need to get the initial 10 colours chosen this week, then the first production run. Once we have the stock we will be open for business

Yes we will be making the lettering. They will be lasered initially but we have the ability to double shot. We also might have the option to buy blank keycaps if there is demand

Same here. Once some good pictures come in, I'd probably get one in lime.

I can't have too many Dvorak sets.

Hi
Profile to be confirmed for initial batch, probably more like the SA or DSA.
Looking at the interest already we would probably ship anywhere in the world but it will only be free delivery to our UK customers.

This is awesome. Up until now Signature Plastics had no competition. Hoping you guys will have as much selection as they do, at a lower price.

Will you carry assortments of PBT caps also? Current PBT caps only comes in black or white.

We are hoping we will have more selection of colours. Price will certainly be lower if you buying from Europe
because of shipping and taxes, but once set up we may be able to beat the overall cost to the rest of the world.
PBT to be confirmed..

Would it be of interest to people if they came in some useful packaging? for example a little tin ?

thoughts please

Don't do fancy packaging. It'll just add more to cost. I'm sure most people want to pay for nice keys, not nice packaging

A set of caps is roughly 5-6 ounces, so international shipping shouldn't be too bad.
