Author Topic: Yellow edition Filco and WASD's yellow (Read 1859 times)

So I hate these bubbled windows keys real real bad, but I decided I would really prefer to not add random colors or even black. I'm hoping someone can tell me if the WASDkeyboard's yellow is the same shade. The Filco appears more "pale" to me, but I can't really tell as flash/camera/etc could be making them look different. If someone happens to have a side by side picture, you'd be my hero.

Sorry I only have the yellow edition Filco but not yellow keycaps from WASD. =(

I had yellow wasd keycaps, but no Filco. The cap is not bright, it's mellow. More pastelish than taxi. I still doubt it will be a match though. I think a totally different color looks better than an almost.

Oh yeah I agree lysol I wouldn't put an almost on it. However these are pale also. I'm hoping someone chimes in and lets me know :\
Going to wait a couple days and if I can't figure it out for sure I'll just order two black ones from wasd with "Herp" and "Derp" or "<3" and "

Have you done anything to yours since those pictures you showed me? I'm trying to figure out some caps to throw on it now since I'm not going to find matching windows keys.

I don't have the wasdkeyboards's yellow but by looking at the pictures they have, IMO its not the same yellow lol. The filco yellows seem to have abit of orange in them. (a wee bit?)

(btw: Do post some pictures when you are done with the yellow edition, just got one myself and I'm entirely not sure how to decorate it!)

Nope. IMO, it looks great the way it is, with the yellow LEDs and all...

Oh nice... the keys are not as bright and I thought they were going to be. Looks like a nice board.

Edit: Forgot to ask... how's the keycap alignment on the yellows? Left side and up arrow alignment in particular.

Yeah I really like the pale sunflower look. I bought tee shirt at old navy on the discount rack for 3 bucks that is the exact same yellow the day after my keyboard came in. lol!

I went over mine with a fine tooth comb so to speak and my alignment is perfect. However, mine wobbled. The board itself wobbled. Now when my order came in from Amazon the corner of the box looked like it had been dropped pretty hard. The wobble was VERY minimal. Last night I picked it up and put my hands on the upper right and bottom left corners and gave it a twist and I heard a pop and now it sits 100% fine. I think the case had popped away from the bottom half.

The alignment seems fine on mine also. The only one with bad alignment (that I own) is the camo version.

I generally dislike the colors offered by the WASD. Not very vibrant over all.

You could always order a set of modifier keys plus f5-f8 and go for an old-school two-tone yellow/off-yellow arrangement in the style of the classic beige/grey boards

Filco yellow does not equal SP yellow. I don't have any WASD keys, that I know about, to compare.\

I'm not too crazy about bright colors or anything, would prefer it be black/white.. but these yellow filcos look so great I would definitely get one.
