Is this what you mean about soldering under the heat shrink so the cable bends at the end better? (is the yellow arrow pointing to same point on your cable?)

yeah the first pic was not the right wiring lol, but after reading up on the differences between micro and mini b I was able to make that micro cable a mini cable by changing the connector. Still learning new tricks everyday

I was just thinking about the wires and how the spot could be sensitive to movement. I guess it's best to try and have the cable one continuous piece and terminate at in the connectors if possible, like you mentioned, even though it sounds too tough to do with the plastic covered ones. Dunno if there are 'DIY' plastic covered connectors. But like we agreed, the plastic-less replacement connectors with heat shrink only look better anyhow. Double it up and two-tone heat shrink to get a tougher strain relief!

They all have two layers of shrink wrap! one smaller for the connection and then the larger one to hole everything in place. I also thought about the implications of the design previously

I was able to get some cotton candy! obviously glissant will have first dibs since it was his idea, but I should have enough to make 4 more cables of the same color. Now to try and find pink shrinkwrap

This is why we go to a professional like you

So if you use re-use a plastic covered connector, you make the solder points on the wires staggered or put something in between so there's no conductivity, and if a plastic-less connector, you don't have that issue at all. Double heat shrink strain relief, kick ass colors, different textures and good karma! You should make a vendor forum listing! Contact iMav now!

No professional here lol, I am only doing this to raise money to go to DEFCON once I raise a sufficient amount of money I will probably stop making cables. Although it will probably take me awhile to make enough money to pay for my plane ticket and $200 fee to get in. :rofl:

I am working on getting some interesting pieces together to make a very special and very limited edition run of cables, hopefully it will work out. I am just waiting on some quotes to come in

I am going a little crazy trying to stay organized, but I think I have everything ordered for all the cables I have discussed with people so far. Aren't they all! lol. when I say limited edition I really mean a very limited run. I plan on making a very limited run of about 10 cables and they will probably cost about $45 shipped. Probably in like 4 to 6 weeks from now as I have to work threw the cotton candy paracord I ordered and the custom orders I have right now. This will probably be the last ones I make for quite awhile as I have some other things I wanna work on that I am going to keep a secret for now
