The answer to #2 is directly above your post.  The answer to #1 ultimately comes from iMav, but as it's a separately listed item with it's own price I'm inclined to expect that you can order it alone.  iMav's order to them is hardly going to contain info on who ordered what, just a list of parts and quantity, then he gets to sort it out on his end and send it to you.

You can use the stock poker stabilizers with the plate mount right? Even if you took the top off, how would you push the plate mount past the four lips on the corners of each switch?

From what I've seen, all you need to do is desolder the 7 LEDs.  Then remove the tops of all the switches, place the plate, reattach the tops of the switches, and solder the LEDs back on.  I'm assuming the stabilizers will work because this is a plate made for the Poker.  Hopefully my assumption is correct.

Newbie question.  Why the obsession with plate mounting?

easier to clean, looks less messy, people like myself who haven't a lot of electronic experience are afraid to break a pcb plate.

So I assume that if you have a plate you also have a pcb?  ie, you don't do wire-wrap or point to point circuitry?

yes.

the plate goes in the middle of the switch, but the switch is still soldered to the PCB.

@iMav ... How do we add extra items, another stabalizer set or mounting plate (or switches), to an existing order?

Thanks,
John

I'd rather not count so can anybody tell me how many switches I should order for the entire board? :)
EDIT: Found the answer in some other post: 61 switches

EDIT:
Earlier in the thread somebody complained about this being as expensive as a fully assembled Poker but those don't come with aluminium casings, do they?
>> Was answered in this way somewhere else as well.

I had a sig once but it's gone. It used to display an icon of a Kinesis. Just imagine that.

This is a lot more expensive than a normal fully assembled poker, but as far as I know it's the only place you can get official aluminium cases for them.

So it's worth it if you like DIY and want an aluminium case for your poker.
My room-mate decided to cancel the internet without telling me.

Limited internet :(

Is the "official" aluminum case for the Pure not the same as this?

FYI, this group buy ends at the end of the month (as per VorTex's request).  I have absolutely no idea if we will ever offer this again.

i'm socal. always happy to solder things up for people, but promptness isn't my greatest strength at the moment. might be best for me to offer a soldering service within an uncertain timeframe for free in exchange for a pcb :)
