Got my first legendary last night.  Attack speed +15% on helm :)

Thanks WIREDPANDA!!

Any time!  I just hope the proposed IAS changes in patch 1.03 don't crush that helm.

i was duo' monk(me)/wiz(fiance') and at lvl 50 in nitemare, we were like, "my monk sucks", "yea it does" that's when i rolled a DH and she powerleveled me through nitemare and now we're both 60 with range dps, wonder when they'll fix melee's.

Sheesh, last week I tried to play an got error 37. Now it's error 33. Starting to wonder when I'll ever get to play.

Saw this on Twitter, it about sums up my experience. Still on Act 2 of Normal... sigh.

it's tuesday, from what my friends say, tuesday is always patch day(for blizzard, wow), so like ppl are just used to it...
yea yea, blah blah i want to play single player...

i'll say this right now, diablo 3 past nitemare/hell level is impossible to play without friends or the auction house.

Yea, Inferno does tend to take a few auction house purchases.  Unless you are somehow the one guy in D3 that gets those great itemization drops.

It would be nice if I can get good drops.
A guy walked up and said: "You know washing your car doesn't make it faster, right?"
I popped the hood and replied: "Yeah... But that turbo does."

You and me, both.  I've seen friends pick up decent gear in a run that I'm on, but I never see any drops on my loot table.

Yah. am feeling the monk pain!

I got put onto a new 2h set up for farming act 1.. works a treat.. for pretty much all elite packs (solo).

1000dps(costs me 400k) with 350+ LOH and attack speed. couple it with overawe and sweeping wind and and you can just take them down before they take you.

This totally works re sub par resists (250~). If you are on the ball, and can time your heals and bubble and pots..

I eventually got some new shoulders and bracers.. and now have 10k armour when buffed, (which does far more mitigation than Resists (just quietly) ) and using claw with LOH and shield.

Basically ended up trying to corpse hop act 2.. cost a fortune, and was playing with one of my mates.. who didnt quite get the concept for a while..

Went back to act1 and farmed the ****e out of it.. and didnt die.... new build is dirty.

might post it in a bit.

This was a working strat for me, as I had very crap gear

can anyone confirm a AS(attack speed) cap, i'd prolly ask on the blizzard forums but, i just don't want to lol, so far i believe the AS cap is 70%, since i added more and my attacks per second didn't go up.

It depends, the max is 2.5 attacks per second. There are also bugged items, which have "Increases Attack Speed" and won't do anything until its fixed. "Attack Speed Increased" is working fine though.

I'm not.  I just started leveling my Witch Doctor (softcore).  Once he's 60, I may roll a hardcore character to add some excitement back to the game.

So without really diving into other forums, because mostly I'm lazy...what is the current consensus on which classes are "best?"

My friend told me:  Demon Hunter = Wizard > Barbarian > Witch Doctor = Monk

I think some of his opinions are biased, but he based "best" on what's currently the easiest class to take through Inferno barring the best gear.

I honestly don't have much experience outside my WD, but I will say this...it's a very micro management intensive class.  For one, you have to keep ALL your skills constantly on cooldown to be able to utilize good mana regeneration without spending millions and millions of gold.  Second, because all your skills are always on cooldown, it's very risky.  You're either zerging through everything, or trying your best to run away with no skills to use.

I'm sure every class has their gripes, but this isn't really a gripe.  Just a simple check if you will, to see how other classes are doing.

Demon Hunter is fun but you need baller gear to be effective, it feels like a good all-round class though once you're geared up.  Act 2 inferno is giving me some grief though, lacuni + wasps = no can defend.  I've got a Wizard in the 40's and she feels way over powered, I'm breezing through parts that were a challenge with my DH, although I already had some decent gear kept aside that I'd found with my other char.  Going to roll a Barb next to try out some melee action.

i'm near complete act2 inferno on my demon hunter and it's tough, basically in the first act i was getting one shotted, so i said f-it, i'm going all offensive. So through upgrades the biggest dps bow i can get is a 960, and i just run through nuking stuff, now i'm focusin on +discipline, it sounds silly to do for gear, but it lets me become invuln, more and longer, so instead of getting lots of gear to survive 2 hits, i just focus on dps and try to get invuln, it works well i think, i just a swarm of those horrible shielding/fast/regen... whatever mobs so i just stand there, have my enchanter (i like her cuz she turns mobs into chickens) do some cc, and i just spam invuln, recover, spam invuln, and nuke it all. Gets fustrating tho, i only play 10minutes at a time since i die so often.

i've now gotten to the point that i take off all my gear except my boots and run around to find the waypoint or where i have to go, ha.

[I'm not really a "Gamer" so be kind]  I just finished "Normal" and started "Nightmare" as a Wizard at level 35.  Is that about typical or should I have completed it much sooner?  I've picked up some good tips here, like 'never stand still while fighting a boss'.

I'm now finding Crafting Pages.  I'm glad there are new things and it not just 'harder'.

I've been so busy with finals/graduation these past few weeks that I haven't been able to play as much as I want. But I was able to farm up quite a bit.

I actually just sold 24 mill @ $11 per mill on the blizz forums. Its absolutely ridiculous the rape prices people are paying for this stuff. Some top weapons are going for $400-600 USD. The most ridiculous part is you can straight up sell on the blizz forums and they don't even care... RMAH is really going to ruin this game. There's a lucrative amount of money to be made if you do it right. I could easily farm 4-5 mill in a day if I had the time. And if it was all I did in the summer, in a day I could probably make closer to 15-20 mill (200-$300).

I wish I had more time to play and I think I would of made $1-2k off this game by now... but sadly I'm going to be spending most of my time in China where I won't be able to play. If anybody wants farming tips/general stuff about DH let me know! Would be glad to help.

i've been on vacation for the last week and a bit... just picked back up again, just wrapping up act3 nightmare and about to hit lvl49.  just had recpie for Captain Crimson's Attire drop.

Set bonuses
2 pieces: Regenerates 20 Life per Second

Durability: 35 - 55
Required Level: 30
Item Level: 32
 • +2 Random Properties
 • Regenerates 8 - 11 Life per Second
 • Melee attackers take 13 - 21 Damage per hit

Captain Crimson's Codpiece

Armor: 102-131
Durability: 50 - 70
Required Level: 30
Item Level: 32
 • +3 Random Properties
 • +4% Chance to Block
 • Increases attack speed by 10 - 11%

As cool as these might be, I'd need some pretty awesome random properties to make them worth while.
