[IC] - Clear Cherry MX Keycaps

Hi all,

I have been on the hunt for some clear Cherry MX keycaps for my Ducky DK9008 Shining, but can't seem to find any at a decent price.

I have contacted Signature Plastics, and they can do the standard 1x1 Esc, WASD and Arrow keys for $1 each (see image below)




I thought why not see if anyone else would be interested in a group buy for additional keycaps:


Please also note that theys keys are not full height. See image below for reference:



I have never done this before, and would really appreciate any feedback on the process.

I asked if they could give me any pictures of these on a backlit keyboard, but Melissa didn't have any around.

I have seen an ebay auction for just the WASD keys which showed them with backlighting, but can't find it just now.
This was all that I could scrounge up (horrible quality!)

Very nice selection you have there squarebox. This is what I am going for!
Can you feel any difference in the height of the clear keycaps compared to the standard ones on your Mionix and Razer keyboard? I don't think that I'd mind but it could be the most annoying thing in the world when typing xD won't know till I've tried it myself. That's if they are full height, from those pics they might be the same!

Guys, I'll try and contact Melissa again sometime today for exact prices and tier discounts on the other keys + full sets. I'm at work currently so quickly updating when I can.

What's the difference between clear and transparent??? I thought there were already 104 transparent sets floating around. Is there an option for a frosted icey look?? those are the ones I'm dying to get a hold of.

The difference is very minute in height (<1mm). You will still notice the keycaps as you type due the difference in texture.
If you can get orders over 250 piece each, they will be cheap.

Mostly, the difference for me is that most of the other clear/smoke/translucent keysets around have all been printed. If I go clear, I'm getting blankes.

i don't remember coming across any clear / transparent that is printed (only kbc half-black transparent).

For a 33 (or 37)-key set, the numbers should be something like:
12 from one row
11 from the other
10 from the last (14 with arrow keys for a 37-keyset)

14 orders is 150+ from each row, or 23.31 for a 37-key set. We should be aiming for this, IMO.

I have updated my first post with the prices now. Thanks Narc ;)

Unfortunately I am very strapped for time these days with work, and can't see how I would go about ordering + re-sending out all of the keys to people that would like to participate.

If anyone else could either help me with the logistics of this, or take over on the actual ordering part that would be fantastic. (I was hoping that SP could send out to everyone individually, but Melissa has advised that they cannot do this)
