This is the official order thread for Center Stemmed Caps Lock Key with Cherry Legend. That is correct - a stepped caps lock key that will be compatible with Filco/Rosewill/DAS etc.  I have worked with SP to design this key, and they have agreed to cover most of the tooling cost and making it available to all furture buys.  Both Black and White will be produced, if they hit MOQ of 50.

Legend is from R3 moogle buy and the Cherry legend project


Color Options:
White on Black - Cherry Legend (WFK on NN) Matches Hashbaz Moogle
Black on White - Cherry Legend (NN on GAW) Matches Hashbaz Moogle
Cream on Green - WSYE Legend (WCK on VBQ)

Melissa did warn me that there is a concern the first shot area may interfere slightly with the MX switch (i.e. it wouldn't rest fully on the bottom of the switch), but only by about 0.010".  (FYI a grain of salt is about 0.020")

It means this has never been done before, so it may not be 100% perfect.  With the tolerance levels she is quoting though, it seems like if it is off, it will be a little more than the width of a hair off.

Tell her to keep an eye on the stem, that’s important Their new space bar fits well, too, so I’m not that worried.

Yes - the picture is of an actual Cherry key.  If anyone has a good picture of a SP key please post it and I will update, but the legend should be very close to the Cherry key.

The gif 1391401 posted is not a moogle caps lock.  I believe it is from the black tsangan kits that were run on kbdmania, which used a different legend than the moogle order.  I did a significant refinement pass over all the new moogle legends and my caps locks look significantly better.  1391401, can you make another comparison gif with the image in the OP?

Adjusting the legend will introduce more time and money and uncertainty.  That said, I'm always happy to have a chance to improve the legends, within reason.  Boiler, let me know if you want me to do another pass on the legend in light of the finished moogle keys.

I'm intrigued by this but I'm concerned with SP's track record with the doubleshot legends. Considering the tooling for this has a more dramatic affect, since mistakes can affect the ability of the key to work in addition to aesthetic issues. Is there going to be a prototype that can be tested by you before the production run is started?
