[FS/FT] Fancy New Gray Leopold FC700R (red)
« on: Fri, 20 July 2012, 23:24:22 »
I recently received one of the new gray tenkeyless Leopolds through mkawa's leopold.co.kr group order.
  • Red switches
  • PBT keys
  • Engraved + infilled legends
  • Detachable cable
  • Fn layer with media keys
Not available for purchase outside of Korea yet.  I bought it impulsively and don't really need another keyboard with red switches.

Used for a couple of days.  Comes with original box and its accoutrements.

Looking for an interesting trade or $130 shipped within the US.  Will ship elsewhere at cost.

NOTE: This keyboard's model number is FC700.  Its space bar is the same as the full-size current-gen Leopold (FC500).  Space bars for Filco, Poker, WASD, etc. will not fit it.  Neither will space bars from current-gen tenkeyless Leopolds (FC200).

I would have jumped on this, but I just got a gray one with browns.  What a great keyboard!  Very solid. It weighs 2 lb. 2 oz. or .95kg.  I like the soft rubber cover that you can type through.

If I wasn't waiting for WASD to make his TKL board, I would jump on this

i would be surprised if wasd's tkl board was quite as solid at this leopold. i was genuinely impressed at the bulk and feel when these showed up.

I have one in black with MX browns and love it. Really want to pull the trigger on this. Looking for any trades?

How do we feel about the quality of these new leopolds compared to filco mj2s? I feel like the regular ass leopolds aren't as nice. Possibly interested in a trade for a poker + accouterments?

edit: I might also take it for cash, I'm having trouble deciding though.

I've owned both Filcos and Leopolds.  They are of comparable quality in every domain that I'm aware of.  The advantage of the Leo is its better quality keycaps (PBT in this new edition) and detachable cable.  The FIlco's advantage is Costar stabilizers and a more standard space bar mount configuration.

What accoutrements does your Poker have?  And what kind of switches?

red switches. white pbt (poker specific) caps. I also have a royal blue treble aluminum case or a brushed blue oneproduct aluminum case, either of which would make it worth a fair bit more than $130. (Also hardcore white and ionospheric blue MX cc skulls)

The only other question i have about the leopold is how stupid is the spacebar switch layout? do standard (filco, wasd, etc) spacebars fit it?

what about the "universal" spacebars from SP? the R4 wiki claims they will fit leopolds. Sorry to have so many questions about it, I haven't really paid enough attention to leopolds in the past.

edit: nvm, thanks demik. So basically if I ever want to change keys on this, I'd have to mod a spacebar or leave the original on?

And can a single universal space bar be bought from SP (qty of 1) in any color, say for the CC&G set. I gotta guess not. Whould it be the same profile also?

Nobody but Leopold's OEM makes compatible spacebars yet.

You need to define compatable, because the post above says the SP universals will fit. I was questioning color, profile and lot sizes. Now I am more confused.

i specifically said sp's universal spacebars only fit filco spacing and leopold fc200.

fc500 and fc700 have the same spacebar, meaning nobody but leopold (for now i guess) makes them.
