After my rotring 600 purchase - I knew it wouldn't be long until this....

(Attachment Link)

Hehehe, what a great pencil the 600 is :D. I use mine daily. I'm now deciding between an 800 and the TWSBI mechanical pencils.

Hmmmmmmm......BS Mummy III?   ;D

Yes please!!

Looking at getting a rotring 600. I'm tired of going to class and having all my cheap pencils break. Obviously for you the cost is justified haha

The 600 was a great purchase! When first received, my first thought was -- "This is too heavy".  On the second day of use, that thought quickly faded as I got used to the weight throughout the day. Honestly, for me at least, this pencil feels really balanced.

You'll enjoy yours if you're a writer! :D

Yep I think I'll get it, I write a lot of essays and I like weighty pens so this pencil sounds perfect for me. Do you know if any stores carry it or if the only way to get it is online?

I bought my Rotring 600 from Massdrop. I'm not sure what other online retailers or storefronts carry them. I've never seen them in a store. The typical retail stores definitely won't. Perhaps you have a Paradise Pen or a specialty store like that near you that you can check at.

I'll have to take a looky around and see if there are some specialty stores then, thanks a ton man. Can't wait to get it.

I bought a Rotring 600 back in 1997.  Used it for around 15 years till it finally fell apart about 18 months ago.

Still have my 600 fountain pen in "lava" finish.  Pretty sweet.  It actually gets grippier if your fingers sweat.  I haven't seen any of those in a while. :(
I'm back.

I bought mine from ebay as I the massdrop buy I wanted to join was out of the black pencils. $2 more but w/e

Amazon also has them

The pic I snapped of the erasers/lead came from jetpens dot com which also sells the 600. I tipped the free shipping point (>$25). Ordered on Friday, recieved on Monday. Not bad for a cross country shipment!

I'll probably order order from Jetpens then. Cause I'll probably go ahead and buy extra lead and some erasers.

Marquette keyboard for a cardiac stress test machine.  It's filthy as hell and needs a good cleaning, but has an MX lock switch, some of the most interesting plate mount Cherry stabilizers I've ever seen (and they feel quite nice too), and vintage Blacks (from what I can tell).  It's almost impossible to see without a microscope or proper macro lens and good lighting, but the MX Lock does have Cherry written on the housing.

PCB porn for those of you into that:

It actually says Marquette Electronics Inc. above that part photographed, but the plate obscures it.

I'm hoping my other find proves to be as interesting and with Brown Alps...though it could be boring and disappointing.

Very nice! Doubleshots?
The stabilizer design is indeed interesting, looks like the sliders have a part that blocks them from going downwards after a certain point?

I've been told a keycap has arrived, but I won't find out for sure until I get home tonite (probably from Bro Caps ID sale).

Oh, the anticipation ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I think it's pad printed?  It's not doubelshots and I don't think it's dyesub PBT (though that would be nice), but it seems nicer than most pad printing jobs I've seen.

The sliders do bottom out at that level, but it's below the MX bottoming out, so you don't feel it.

And I forgot to add (and photograph it), but the spacebar has a linear Grey under it.

It actually says Marquette Electronics Inc. above that part photographed, but the plate obscures it.

I'm hoping my other find proves to be as interesting and with Brown Alps...though it could be boring and disappointing.

Holy ****. An MX lock in the wild!! Can you do a review and a typing video with that board? I would love to see that. That's so cool :D

I'll see what I can do.  I don't have a proper video camera, so I can't do that too well.  I'm also a little paranoid about actually opening the MX Lock switch.

And, to be honest, the only reason I bought that board was for the MX lock.  The linear Grey and awesome stabilizers were an added bonus.

w0w! CC cluster ? BB cluster ?

Very nice! Is that terminator clack?! And you got a name for that cluster? Very very cool! Alot of sweet clacks showing up this week! Sleepys OG tri BS and Bro's recent aquistion made my jimmies mildly uncomfortable, i dont think i can take seeing anymore.

Yes, it is a Terminator Topre skull and a CC WASD cluster.  The cluster's color is apparently called "Fallout yellow".

The WASD caps have the FXE logo underneath, but they didn't show up in my crappy cellphone pic.  I'll take some better pics later on when I have a chance.

And I think Sleepy was just joking around with his OG MX, although an OG Tri MX is still really awesome. :)

Is this another new creation?  I've never seen them before!  Or even heard rumours!!

Hehe, rowdy has been summoned!  I think it is an old set.  I'm wondering whether there was a matching skull to go with it?   Was there an Ice skull that went with the WASD Ice cluster?

Might be an olden one, Fallout Yellow and Fallout Orange are listed in CC's official thread:

Someone has been keeping these very, very secret for many years

That's a dangerous request!
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.
