Anyone else have a CM QuickFire Rapid without any labeling?
« on: Sun, 02 September 2012, 00:30:31 »
I picked up a new QuickFire Rapid yesterday at Fry's, and when I opened the box I noticed it didn't have any of the annoying labeling on the keyboard that I've noticed in all of the pictures and the box. It also doesn't have the swirly logo windows keys and instead has keys that just say "win", although it did come with the CM logo windows keys.

Anyone else get one of these without any of the labeling?

whoa you are one lucky guy :D

It looks like it simply didn't get the final finish, or it's a new revision given the win key. :o

Just paint over it with plasti'dip, looks great, very thin coat is enough. AND since plasti'dip is so easily removeable, you can redo it if it ever fades, but that's unlikely as who lifts and rub their keyboards all the time. oh wait, this is geek hack.

Though I honestly can't fathom why people care so much about the labels. I never ever look at my keyboard, and no' one visits my computer room.  :'(

Lol...maybe cm decided to listen to the community after everyone told them they might have over labeled their keyboards.

Hopefully it's a new revision.  Just like everyone else I hate all the labeling on it but I think the rubber coated finish is nice and its grey color goes well with a lot of the keycaps sets.
Please excuse my noobness (◉ω◉)

Cool stuff, would've loved that absence of branding on my Quickfire Rapid Red I got a week ago.

I do think it could use a logo somewhere though. It looks pretty plain.

That is so awesome.  I own two with branding and I would have been a happy, happy man if I had opened those boxes and found that surprise.

That looks pretty nice. Just got my one a few weeks with all the branding on it. Wouldn't mind one like that.

It is pretty plain.  I think it would look nice if the body was a little darker.  I suspect they made it this light so they could put the dark logos on it.

Though I'd have to say, if they aren't going to be perfect, erring on the minimalist side is so much better.  This is a tenkeyless keyboard without macro keys.  Minimalism is built into the hardware, so why not have minimal paint as well?  Crossing fingers for Coolermaster having listened to its customers.  Not that it will benefit me directly...

you guys clamoring for logos are suckers for advertising. that looks 100 times better than anything CM has ever put out due expressly to the lack of logos.

There is one on the front (switch/keycap side) of the PCB, under the controller.

Check it out!

(June 26, '11 for me)

I really want to see one of the red switch'd ones without branding. It'd look pretty good with that matte finish.

While I was in there, I noticed that it has JIS support on the PCB. Anyone seen a Japanese QF rapid? The spacebar switch can also be moved slightly.

I like the CM storm branding over the arrow buttons, kind of dislike the one over at the ESC key and the one on the "front".

Are you sure it is a CM? It seems like the mStone Groove87 from IDFactory, though the keycaps are definitely CM.
I hope it is a new design, or maybe just the OEM screwed the branding, and it is just one of a kind. Either way it is nice.

Considering the box says Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid, yeah I'm pretty sure it is. It also has the red lights for scroll lock and caps lock. The only branding it has is on the top of the frame, it says cmstorm.

You can't. :D

Besides, if you're getting a QF rapid the first thing you should be looking at getting are new caps! :D

Hmm... was about to grab 1 of 4 MX Red ones left on amazon. I don't mind waiting for no logo's as long as more are coming. I wonder if I could email CM about it, or wait for amazon restock? ...
