Yeah, now I don't have to steal yours at the meetup!  :)) Only thing I have left to do on it is decide on what lock LED color I want and then I'm getting the case powdercoated.

What color are you getting yours powdercoated in? And are you anodizing or powdercoating it? I believe the body is aluminum.

And pfft, a quick strike from My Little Kishsaver would make you think twice about stealing stuff from me :P.

I'm getting it powdercoated as I don't want to jump through the hoops and minimum batch size pricing for another anodizing job. I can get it powdercoated for about half of the price of getting it anodized here. I'll be getting it done in a three coat process. A chrome base coat, a shocker yellow top coat, and a glow in the dark clear coat. After it's done, this is what the color should look like.

That's definitely an interesting idea. Glow in the dark....I should do that to my Kingsaver. It's a bit lacking in color.

Well, if it wasn't evident by my GID bro collection or my Race, I really love colors that are obnoxious, loud, and bright, so that's where my motivation came in for that. Really can't wait to do it.

I've been planning on getting mine reanodized when I can find a local shop that's affordable.

Random question to you KMAC enthusiasts.

How do you like the silver in person? I can't tell by the pictures, but it looks awfully shiny/flakey, not sure if it's good looking in real life :)

I actually didn't feel like it was overtly shiny but I definitely thought it was "brighter" than other silvers.  I guess you could say it was shiny but it's not gaudy or anything like that.  I loved my silver KMAC.

Something pretty cool showed up today.  :D

More

Next to my Kingsaver for color comparison. This picture more accurately represents the true color of the case--a light blue-grey.

The weight was a huge surprise. The brass piece adds much more than I expected--I don't have a scale but I would guess that it's close to half the weight of the keyboard itself, though it could just feel that way because it's so dense.

Big thanks to BroCaps for the board. Can't wait to put some caps on it.

Not sure how to feel about the partial acrylic plate, how do those feel?

It calls "poly half plate" not acrylic plate.  it can bend    friend   :-*

Dumb question.  What is the purpose of that clear poly plate?  Is it for dispersing light from the switch LEDs?

IIRC, they believe that it allows the clicky switches a better feel and/or sound. Other switches would have a full plate.

This would actually makes sense to me. More resonance and vibration would mean a more clicky and tactile switch. Kind of like how I think blues feel better in a fullsize keyboard over TKL.

I believe it's to replicate the feeling of PCB mount which is generally preferred for some switches [vintage browns in particular]. OTD boards are all plate mount, so at least _some_ kind of plate it required for it to work. Poly + partial makes for the least plate-like plate if you get what I mean.

I think that Poly haft plate can offre more good feeling type (more smooth) than Aluminium full plate but may not solid.

You say that, but that picture above proves you wrong, as that board is Cherry PCB mount.
The 356.2 posted by nasby99? Or another one that I seem to be missing?

356.2 is plate mount mang, just like all 356/456/360.
