[GB] Klaxon! The RA2.0 clone - Orders closed! Invoicing/revision time

Technically, it is now February 2nd and orders are "closed".

What I mean by that is that the tier that everything is at now is the price everyone will pay.  I'll be accepting payment from the time I get invoices out (hopefully Tuesday at latest to be 100% invoiced) until March 2nd.

 I'll also be taking order revisions (additions/subtractions and even shipping requests) and late comers until that time as well.  Those late comers just won't have any affect on the invoiced price at this time.

Can someone make a poll form for (standard or 7bit mods)? That way people can vote on which they prefer.

I can do this, but I think that madscientist is the only person to not want them so far.

Yo - I don't want to tell you how to run things...but I have some suggestions you can take or ignore.


You may want to show all the price breaks and the quantities needed to achieve them.
You may want to list counts of who / how many are ordered.
You may want to be upfront on what the shipping costs are
You may want to put a little more detail around exactly what keys are included in each named set.

You filled the IC form, this is the same form, so you're fine.  As kmiller linked, these are SP prices direct.  I dislike the pricing for the extra stuff until you get to the high order numbers, but we'll see.

You are!  I'm hoping with a little more than a month of GB exposure, we get closer to that 100 range instead of the maybe 30 range.  Pricing gets very nice as we go higher.

The pricing at the low tiers isn't the best, honestly.

Around here "base set" usually refers to an 87-key set.  Just want to make sure people understand that an 87-key set at 20 units is $110, not $55.

But yes, for an 87 key set, it's base + mods.


Note:  Originally, this was meant to be an alternate input set for RA2.0, but they can't provide the correct red for that. I also tried to make what comes in each kit a bit more noticeable in the OP

It might be helpful to list separate prices for each kit even if they're the same. I straight up didn't get it and thought it meant both. It just took me 10 minutes of double checking those prices vs the website and quotes I get from Melissa etc. to be sure that @100 orders its $50 for a base + mod kit and not $25. I was about to email Melissa and be like wtfux. I had the idea that because they limited the selection of colors to a set few they might be able to deeply discount the cost etc.

I almost wish that was the case because then we could get really cheap group buys as long as we stuck to those colors.

Anyways glhf on this group buy. I'm surprised so many people wanted them right after!

If I am doing the math properly -- and I might certainly be getting it wrong -- the best price for a 104-key set as of 11/22/12 is $140.  I'm not in for that for 2-shot with standard SP fonts, and others may feel the same way.

And as long as we see that price, it would be dishonourable to sign up for a GB thinking we can always cancel.  So, speaking at least for myself, I have not signed up.  I may be alone in thinking like this, but if not, there could possibly be multiple people (scores?) who would sign up at a lower price point?  Chicken and egg.

So, if there is a way for you to add an "I'm in at 50 sets" option, you might discover enough demand to, well, push it to 50 sets.

Or not.  I don't know, and I might be alone.  But I bet I am not.

If everyone did that, we would never get to 50 sets. The way group buys work is, you place your order and watch the price go down as more people place their orders. If you are one of the first, the price listed is going to seem high, but you just have to have faith that we will get lots of orders. I just think this set needs to be marketed more.

Anyone know how big of a difference there will be to the old RA2.0? I believe I have found an ISO kit from RA2.0, which might make me interested in this, but the shift in red color worries me if I am to combine it with the ISO kit.
