im looking to get my first one done soon. Got two ideas which i get first depends on if i can find a design i like.
Design i have and know what to do with for first one is:
 - means godless or without gods in ancient Greek. origin of the word atheist, want it on the right of my chest

second design is far more complex and i need it drawn up, got a tattoo artist having a look at it at the moment. I want a motorbike engine integrated into a heart, almost biomechanical looking. some source ideas are below, quite like the look of v-twin engines, easily recognisable as a bike engine. Anyone got any ideas or fancy drawing something for me, i cant draw for **** (tattoo would go on the left side of my chest)

Sorry about all the photos, got a bit carried away haha

Is it safe to assume that CLW are your initials?

No, there's a bit of a story behind the letters. I actually don't have a middle name so I only have 2 initials ^_^

The initials are my friend's. He died in a car crash when we were in high school. It's my tribute to him.

The design is an idea I got while reading Angels and Demons. If you read the book, there's a whole bunch of really cool ambigram drawings in it.

Sorry if it wasn't as cool/long as you were hoping. I said a bit of a story, not a good story lol.

Do you have any ink NikoGasm?

if you have to ask... a lot :)
but really, it depends, mostly where you're getting the tattoo and what your pain tolerance is like.

Only the outline is really that painful. I got mine in a spot people say sucks pretty bad, and it was more than tolerable. It basically feels like someone is trying to draw on your arm with a pen that has no ink, so they're pushing hard. But the shading and filling-in part isn't bad at all.

Oh cool, I saw that earlier in the thread but apparently I can't use search still lol. I like that. I'm seriously considering getting a video game themed tattoo as well.

For me, it felt like someone digging their nail into your skin as hard as they can. It hurt at first but eventually I became numb to it.

I have 2 (on previous page I think) in the same spot and had one recolored.. one bruised up fairly badly. I think my tattooist was less kind compared to male ones, perhaps. Haha.

I plan on getting quite a few. My sister is coming to visit in a week, she'll be giving me two more. One is "ㅎㅎ" really small on the opposite side of my arm from the lambda. The other is the two small marks that Jason Brody has in the beginning of Far Cry 3, which will be going in a location accurate to his.

It hurt at first but eventually I became numb to it.
Yeah, after about twenty minutes even the outline wasn't even that bad.

depends on your pain tolerance.

depends on the area.

depends on the needles.

my first tattoo was a 6 hour session. there was no "numbing" as people like to claim. some places it was worse than others.

second tattoo was a breeze tho.

Thanks man. Guess I'm lucky enough to be so covered that finger tattoos are okay!

Pain wise for me I've never had much fun with any tattoos. People who say they couldn't feel a thing probs got a bad tattoo that won't be there in 5 years. Or they genuinely are hard as nails or something.

I've had lady's in the tattoo say its worse than having a baby haha.

It's very much down to the area and time scale. I think anything over the 3 hour point becomes seriously uncomfortable.

I'll probably never get a tattoo but I do love the look of them! :)

If I ever did I'd want something along the lines of these

I am a fan of clockwork and dragons, and would love something that integrates the two. But, since I hate pain and all, I'll probably only ever have something like that etched into my keyboard. :)

I'm actualy thinking about my second, and I won't make any TLOR tattoo as I said before, but I'ld like to have a dragon made, does someone have any beautiful dragon image for a tattoo? most of the one you find in internet are ... I don't know ... ugly? I don't like them at all, but I love dragon so much (bought the collector editon of Skyrim for the statue of the dragon ^^)

thanks a lot!

You'd be surprised what the rite tattooist can do! They are few and far between but if you wait a long enough waiting list, invest enough time and pay enough money you wouldn't begin to believe what you could end up with!

You could take the skyrim figure and a decent tattooist would use that alone as a reference to start drawing the tattoo!

Ill dig out some nice dragon tattoos I've seen to give you a better idea tomorrow

Just a quick google image search result to get across the general idea. I don't love it. I'd rather have a good artist do a commission of one.

i also have an imperial logo on the back of my leg.

i want to! but im saving up cash right now. plus i like getting it done during winter since i have to let it heal and my boss doesnt like tattoos so id need to wear a long sleeve shirt.

currently i hide mine with a baseball sleeve but thats because tis all healed up and i dont have to worry about anything if i put something tight on it. if that makes any sense.

Get a half sleeve :))

I've been wanting one for so long but I keep changing ideas lol

Also I don't like conflicting styles (having multiple pieces in different styles that is) but I can't decide which I like best o.o Currently really into Asian inspired styles but American ones are super dope too

Many ways to work around it, cover it or even implement it into the sleeve!

What do you currently have? Any ideas for the sleeve so far?

Thank You! It is outlined, just in orange instead of the usual black. I had to go to quite a few tattoo shops (Lived in Pittsburgh at the time), because most artists said it wasn't their style and just refused to do it :p
People usually ask me if it's fake or painted on lol. I've also had a few people randomly come up to me and touch my arm without even asking, just to see if it would rub off rofl

ugh i hate vicarious tattoo ownership.

i don't really have a lot of color, most of my stuff is black and white so it's all outlined :) i might have to think about doing some non-black when i start filling in my arms.

Just a few examples. Obviously the type of tattoo artist you need to choose would be more dependant on the style you want it tattooed in. Here are a few examples from all styles:

Bottom line really; if you spend enough time to find a good enough tattooist. Wait as long as the waiting list will be & pay enough money you'll get something beautiful.

The catch with dragons is scale makes a big factor. Bigger the better really.

Nice dragons. I was talking to my gf about Zelda: Link's Awakening the other day and she asked what the windfish looks like and when she saw a pic she said "that would make a good tattoo" so I did a little google search:

My future Das Ultimate S, all modded up. For now, it's a bit more black.
