Wish I'd seen this, would of jumped on it. Really want a tiered thick PBT caps-lock key.

They're thick, but I thought the Vortex dyesub black-on-black were as well with the only difference being OEM profile instead of Cherry.

No, the only keys that are OEM and thick that I know of are the new Ducky dysubs that are supposed to be coming out.

No, the only keys that are OEM and thick that I know of are the new Ducky dysubs that are supposed to be coming out.

Edit: Oh wow lol, looks like the non dye sub is actually thicker, but I swear I have seen someone post this set upside down showing that they were thick.

BTW, has anyone who ordered a colored set gotten theirs yet? I have a feeling Feng is still waiting on that shipment from china.... but I could be wrong.

Hi Feng. I'm stuck with a Filco Majestouch that my skin acid has started to wear the keycap labels off after 3 months. I kid you not, my silver-plated Parker fountain pen suffered the same fate.

Okay, I've missed the boat. Would have loved blue or grey keycaps at $35. None left I gather.

Next pension day is 28th February, so couldn't pay until then anyway.

What price can you do on the eBay items following or should I wait until the next offer?

Just mic'd my black ones at 0.8-0.9mm (varies). And the spacebars are not Leopold compatible.

Also, I paid like 3 weeks ago (which you confirmed) but my status still doesn't say paid, while the status of those that ordered after me says "paid". Don't think it really matters but wanted to confirm so the shipment of my items doesn't get delayed even further.

feng, my eBay purchase arrived today thanks. A couple of questions.

The key profile is lower, but that seems fine.

I have been fitting Cherry MX Keycap Rubber O-Ring Switch Dampeners and these work well in lowering the noise level on my Cherry Blues.

The spacebar is sticking down often. Any ideas? Remove the Rubber O-Ring perhaps?

I used to use a very low pressure spiral spring under the Enter key as the students used to hammer it.

Wonder whether this would work to assist the spacebar or do you or anybody else have any suggestions please.

Typing this on about 50% new keycaps as I'm installing them carefully.

Yes. The spacebar problem happens to me too. Sometime it just remains halfway pressed for some reason.
I have the white caps and expect the gray. Thin imsto orings of course.

It really bothers me because I cannot explain why that happens.

Don't know. The're Costar. I've straightened the spacebar. Should it be ABSOLUTELY perfect?

The thing is it works fine on another "identical" keyboard (I have 2 pieces of HPE87, one blues, the other browns)

Yes, it's quite odd.

In default position the specabar wobbles a bit (just like on any Costar stab). That means the stabilizer sits correctly and there's enough room to play.
Somethings is fishy on the way up - sometimes. The space bar just hangs midway.

PBT space bar and sometimes shift keys often come more or less warped. That's the way this plastic behaves. It's nobody's fault really.
If you happen to be in such situation there is little work to do, just search this forum for the hairdryer method.

These are small annoyances that keep us talking. People over here are extreme nitpickers.

Filco uses Costar stabilizers.

Removed the O-ring from the Spacebar and it works. Either landing pads or a couple of light springs perhaps. Know I put a couple away somewhere.

Tried the + key on the 10K pad with an O-ring, had to reset one of the stabilizer base clips, but it's working fine.

Probably remove the keyboard from the case for more working/viewing room.

After 45 years in the game, still prefer either ALPS or Reed switch keyboards. My Northgate OmniKey/Ultra is still going strong after nearly 20 years of use.

All new keycaps now on. Removed the spacebar and made sure the O-ring was forced home. Reassembled and all seems to be okay now.

Will use a thinner mica or nylon washer instead of the O-ring if it sticks again.

At least my keyboard is now quieter and I can see both the screen and the keyboard with my computer glasses. Couldn't see the white on black Filco keycaps and they wore after 2 months.

I now have a Filco feng ™ keyboard

I think he mailed what limited stock he had of the colored ones (iirc he didn't have very many on hand) and for anyone who wasn't lucky enough to order them early, we'll have to wait for when he gets the rest of the orders from China.
