Busted USB connector

Finally have all the parts to finish this KMAC2 and look what I found...

Must have happened during shipping and I didn't notice it until I tried to plug it in.  So does anyone think I'll be able to bend it back into shape?

nah, you should probably just send that to me.

honestly, it looks like the actual pins are still fine, so if you bend the shield back to a proper shape, it should still work (hopefully for you)

Just be glad the tiny sliver of pcb holding the connector on didn't break. That seems rather fragile and kind of stupid. I agree, if you are careful to get the shielding back into shape it should be ok.

Well I managed to open it enough to get a cable in there.  It's a very tight fit but I guess it will work.  Better than an intermittent connection.

Why would anyone use something as small and fragile as a mini-USB plug on a keyboard?

Naturally, I don't even like detachable cables at all, but why not use a standard size plug for durability?
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"
