Good(ish) news. The good news is my switches are on the way. The bad news is I originally paid for assembly and all that but I'm biting the bullet on this one. Now I just have to find stabalizers I guess and find WFD for my plate/PCB.

LOL, my switches have been on the way for a few months now.  He said he would send them right away, haven't heard a peep from him since.

Always be polite. Always keep receipts. Always cooperate. Yeah, I still lost money (though it was my choice to bail on my assembly), but I didn't lose everything.

After over 9 months, I too just received my parts today - MX Whites.

All things aside from how you want to complain about how this whole GB has been handled, here's a list of tips if you want to get your stuff:

- PM him. He's mentioned that he doesn't even read this thread anymore, so posting here doesn't really do anything except provide you an outlet to rant. Note that his response time is not really that quick, but it is existent.
- Be polite like nebo said. (Remember, this is a list is for coming to an agreement with him to get your stuff, not anything else.)
- If you've done all this stuff and still don't get any PM responses, don't be afraid to send a demand letter. For a template of a demand letter, and a few further details on what to do, PM me.

I'm not american so a demand letter is not an option
So he has the right to scam me?

I received my switches from this group buy today.  I had to pay shipping twice, but I'm completely fine with that.  I'm just happy to be done with this GB.

Got my switches today (maybe yesterday, I was out). 100 whites. Took a while, but here in the end. Still before my PCB so it's not like it was the bottleneck.

I'm thrilled that people are getting their stuff, albeit very slowly. It would appear that TheProfosist is attempting to make good on at least the parts of this group buy. This is of course encouraging, but also frustrating given the lack of public communication.

I wish he would state publicly what his goals are and what steps he's taking to make good on this group buy. Unfortunately, it appears that he prefers one-on-one PMs. So if you're still waiting on parts, it seems like the best best is to contact him directly via PM.

As they say, "actions speak stronger than words." My hope is that his actions continue.

I will send the ones for the people that contacted me to send them to him ASAP (pasph sleepy916 affect656)

I'm not even sure anymore. With all the spreadsheets WFD had my plate and PCB but never really responded to me so I'm not sure if they're with TP or WFD.

Can anybody help me dim the brightness of the LEDs? I've tried changing the value in tmk keyboard firmware, but no matter what value they stay the same. Also, the locking caps lock doesn't work with the firmware for me, either.

Alright guys, I have a not-so-brief update to post here.

I live a little over an hour from TheProfosist.  A few months ago I contacted him, asking if there was anything I could do to help him move this along.  He was interested in handing all of the parts of this GB over and letting me handle the shipping/distribution of these parts, so that's the route we took.

Today I met up with TheProfosist and collected all material components of this buy, and caught up to speed on the logistics since I hadn't even joined GH when this buy started.  My understanding is that money was collected for labor and parts, but not shipping.  A lot of the components purchased ended up costing more than planned, so the money is all gone (including assembly money).  You can choose to believe this or not, but that's really not the point.
The point is that there is no money left in this buy.  As such, I unfortunately need to ask for money in order to send these things out to their respective owners.  :-/

I'm still awaiting the master list of participants, components, and the like.  For now, I simply have possession of the parts, as shown below.

Phantom GB by HoffmanMyster, on Flickr

As soon as I get more information on which pieces go to which geekhacker, I can begin the process of tracking people down and working out payment/shipping.  Until that time, I wanted to alert everyone to the current status and get the ball rolling, so to speak.  I know that many involved in this GB are probably not very active anymore, so hopefully I can reach everyone in a timely manner.  If you remember what you paid for or had mailed to TheProfosist, please feel free to post here or PM me that information (include "Phantom GB" in the subject please!).  If not, I will PM everyone once I have that information.

Regarding the timeline: I wasn't sure when I would receive these parts and be able to start working on this, so please bear with me as I am fairly busy in life right now.  I will do my best to get this out in a timely manner, but I do have prior commitments that may take priority.  I hope you understand.  Regardless, I will stay in contact with everyone and work to resolve this ordeal as swiftly as possible (I want this out of my kitchen sooner than later :P ).   :thumb:

If anyone has any questions for me, please feel free to address them here in the thread or via PM.

As a final note, I ask that we not dwell on the past issues of this group buy, and instead look forward to making some progress.   :-*

Alright, let's get this show on the road!

I don't know if this would help anyone or not, but I'd be willing to pick up one Phantom assembly for the price of shipping, and maybe a pocket pack of solder (I don't think I have enough solder left for an entire board after doing two builds), if someone is unable to do an assembly themselves but has all of the parts.

This is really cool of you Hoff, glad to see some people finally seeing their boards and parts after all this time!  :thumb:

And I can do some soldering for the cost of shipping too.  If you want to buy me a beer, that would be awesome, but nothing is expected other than shipping being covered.  It might actually motivate me to finally do some soldering of my own I've been putting.

:thumb:

Just as a note, there are not PCBs or plates in my possession, or that TheProf ever had.  Both of those aspects fell apart pretty hard during the buy.  So if people already have PCBs ready to go, you can assemble just fine, but if you were counting on the PCB from this buy arriving I'm not sure what to do.  :-/

I would think that, as a bare minimum, he should get a board ban?

Of course you would have to have a formal way for complaints to be logged.....

If they ban him then any hope of anyone getting the remainder of their stuff is essentially lost.

So, since HoffmanMyster has the remaining items in his possession now, shouldn't the mods proceed with a ban at this point? It's not like anyone needs to communicate with him anymore.

Sounds like a good idea.
