Steelseries Apex
« on: Mon, 07 January 2013, 10:38:47 »
Steelseries just released a new piece of poooooooooooo

http://Steelseries.com/apex

Why the heck do they keep making boards with such awesome features but always fall short on the basics?

What's with everyone going low profile these days?

My signature hasn't changed since 2012. I should really update it.

At least it's only priced at $99.99 as oppose to the Razer DeathStalker's $249.99.

Though even at $99.99 a mechanical seems to be a better deal.  Also what's with the ridiculous amount of buttons?

i know ay? same goes to the Razer Deathstalker. Ridiculously expensive, and it's scissors keyboard i believe.
I mean, Black Widow is ok, but Deathstalker? who would pay like 350+ for that ****?

I guess it doesn't look that bad in person.  Though I guess if I was ever in market for scissor switch keyboards I'd probably still get Logitech Illuminated Keyboard.

Funny I notice that Apex RAW has gloss finish, and Apex has matte finish.  So I guess matte finish is a "feature" on the higher end model now  :P

it's scissor switch dome and not plunger based rubber dome?

Actually you could be right does look more like plunger based rubber dome.  I guess I was too quick to assume low profile -> scissor switch lol my bad.

Dood. The lights! This keyboard is sexy in every way! I love rubberdomes! They are way more portable than another keyboard. I would love to try that spacebar!

Dude. I posted a photo of the internals. It's right there in glorious color. It is plunger rubber dumb, 100%. Unless somebody came up with a circular scissor switch membrane when I wasn't looking.
