Quickfire Rapid Stealth?
« on: Tue, 12 February 2013, 05:12:48 »
Straight to my question! I will be buying my first mechanical keyboard soon, some might not know the answer to this but, is there any release date expectations for CM Quickfire Rapid Stealth edition with Cherry Red switches?

Thanks :)

I wanna say mid-March... please don't hold me to this - anything can happen when things are being shipped from across the globe.

Oh ok :) And the last question, will it be more, than the current Rapid with Cherry mx red switches? Or less? Cause I really can't wait to get my first mechanical keyboard which will probably be a Rapid Stealth or a TK :))

Thanks very much for your answers, I know it's not easy to answer questions, knowing what you can say and what you can't about the upcoming products.

Do you have a general idea of how many you would order?  I can work with our sales team to see what customer could work that out!

Any changes to the keyboard? Something new/replaced things? Comparing to the CES version.

Could we get some sneak peaks? :p

Nothing changed, looks like the CES version.  The low-profile design is what we're aiming at.

Oh yeah. that's a great looking keyboard, and I hope to see it at similar price points as the regular QFR :)

also: Are the LED colors going to match the Switch colors?

My theory on keyboards is You should only have one keyboard in each switch type.

Yep..we plan on getting the backlit XT (aka XTS) going as soon as we can.  Lots of ideas, but we just gotta be patient ><

Also, here are the stealth photos you asked for:

Thanks man! I'm wondering, What does those little lights mean? I understand caps lock, but the others? Can you turn them off? (Btw I don't use a full-size keyboard, that might be the reason why, lol.)

FN + F9 disables win keys. Red light is on when win keys are disable. Other one is the Screen Lock key.

This is true, and is (also) the exact behaviour the QFR exhibits. For this reason, I suspect they'll be priced similarly, but we'll see.

Ofcourse, capslock, scroll-lock are usually "off". Winkeylock is up to the user. I only have it active when I'm in a game that doesn't play nice (like Deus Ex 1). As a result, my QFR is almost always completely unlit.
