Keyboard Color Chooser
« on: Sat, 16 February 2013, 08:53:32 »
I've built this to help me find the right ABS color code.

http://lab.cubiq.org/kbcc/

Hope you find it useful. If you like it, help me improve it. I miss some color codes (they are named UNKN# or they end with XX), and I'd need a better photo for the color chips.

If you have the color ring, please scan all colors or take a picture without flash over a white background (1 sheet of paper is not enough unless you have a white desktop!).

Suggestions are welcome.

PS: this is just to help you pick the ABS color code, it's not to design keyboards

Very awesome little tool, man you program some pretty sweet stuff

this saves so much time in making mock ups and then scrapping it because it looks like trash

I second that motion! You should put up your keyboard designer thingy too Matt!
You may want to allow the changing of colors for each key/ for the modifers etc, to make it a bit easier to make keycap renders for GBs. Also, would it be possible to use the Cherry Font if it was availible?

to anyone who is using this: remember that this is not 100% perfect because most monitors are not really color calibrated. (i just realized this because i use F.lux haha)

anyway, this is pretty cool to try out combinations.

Very cool!

I would also suggest changing legends and doing different mod. colors. But I'm sure you're already working on that :D

yeah that's in my to-do, at least mods+alpha

Also, would it be possible to use the Cherry Font if it was availible?

I couldn't find it, is there a TTF somewhere?

I would ask for frame color as well...

Wall street CxO's would pay a fortune to have a painting like that in their office.

update

now you can choose mods and alpha colors

http://lab.cubiq.org/kbcc/#GFW,WA,UNKN4,WA

you may need to refresh a couple of times to kill browser cache.

hint: you can switch from MODS to ALPHA with the Spacebar.

PS: actually that color combo is pretty sexy
