i didn't even know they made hangul sets

Yes. You can soak caps on dish soap, denture trans, or laundry detergent. Sometimes I'll use wet naps for a quick clean.

What buckling springs keyboards were being manufactured in 1982.  I would love to get a keyboard from my birthyear.

My guess is neither. I think it was at least 1983, but I may be wrong.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Nope, Jan 24.  I wouldn't be that picky.  Anything from 82 would suffice.

Any way to tell if a zenith zkb2 has green alps or not? By model number on back or anything, or does a keycap need removed to tell?
No way I know of. You could maybe tell if you could figure out the date.

What do people do with their topre keyboards after they harvest the domes to use in another one?  Do people actually buy them with the inconsistent-but-not-in-a-planned-out-way weights?

My fault for not fully explaining my thought process.  I mainly meant like when someone harvests 55g domes for an HHKB, their original 55G board will still have some 55 due to the HHKB obviously having fewer keys.  So even if you trade all the same keys the HHKB has, there will be a couple modifiers on the bottom row that are 55 while the rest are 45, and the F row and whatever else will still be 55.  Would people actually buy the resulting board?

as may be obvious, i've been thinking about swapping 55g domes into my HHKB but don't want to do it if I won't really be able to sell the resulting frankenboard for much

What buckling springs keyboards were being manufactured in 1982.  I would love to get a keyboard from my birthyear.

Model M technoogy came out in winter of 1984 with the wheelwriters, so it would be model F for sure.

1982 would be a PC or maybe XT, which can be hard to date accurately.

Other options are the bigfoot and 3178 "model C" keyboards (I think)

I can check for you when I get home.

There's loads of keyboards like that on the classifides: they sell, usually at a discount. I might be interested in one in a few months.

traditionally I think you put the inconsistent dome on the tenkey (if there is one) and function row, followed by modifiers if necessary.

Its funny you mention the bigfoot board.  Hwood34 actually sold me his bigfoot.  The date on the sticker is within 4 months of both my birthday and my wife's birthday.  Probably within days of the exact half way point.

Hmm, how many keypresses do you think it takes to make a switch feel broken-in?

I want to break-in Clears before I lube them because I heard that they take a lot longer to break-in then.

I've taken mine apart a few times, If you PM me I'll remember to take pictures showing how. If you're careful it's not so bad.

based off a couple quick keystrokes through the box on the razer I think they are pretty close but I haven't used one in person.

At Fry's today they had red, brown and razer switches. Not the blue which was the one I really wanted to try, haha! I really like the feel of the razer switch but can't stand the brand, build or fonts...

The razer switches are basically slightly modified cherry switches.  If you liked their clicky switches then you would very likely enjoy blue switches.

Would this setup be considered to have NKRO?  Not that it matters in function due to the physical constraints of the setup, but the inner geek is curious and I lack the full understanding of shift registers.

If you don't get some MX compatible stems for your HHKB then the only keycaps that you can use are original PFU or Realforce ones. Elitekeyboards have only this set in stock right now: http://www.elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,toprekeys&pid=pdkb400ktb

It's 6x.  :)

My bad, it is 6x. I had the HHKB layouts for Cherry boards in mind.

What do people use for Fn keys in 60% setups with Winkeyless layout?

I'm talking about the one that looks like just any Winkeyless, with the full size right shift.

Just super curious, never handled a 60% keyboard before, but I do plan to build my own, and trying to figure out what sorts of layouts people use.

Personally I barely use the right hand modifiers, so I'd probably use one of those. Besides that FN instead of Caps Lock is also fairly popular.
