Any ideas where I can get pcb mount cherry stabs for 2unit?  Digikey and mouser are out.  I also ordered the last two from OC but I need some more.  The only other place I see them is Gon but thats for ~$27 shipping for $13 worth of stuff.

I'm sure someone bought extra from ivan's group buy.  Maybe techkeys will have some?

Techkeys did buy some.  However, I did find some.  I found a site with 118 in stock then I ordered 13.

http://parts.arrow.com/item/detail/cherry/g990742#JJF2 was where I found them.  They have 105 left according to the site as I am posting this.

They do appear to have a US based warehouse by the $4.05 standard mail shipping cost.  Sure beats almost $27 shipping from Gon.  Nothing bad about his stock, just international shipping for some stabs is a bit steep.

Which brand offer these keyboards with 75% , backlit, and Cherry mx?

KBT Race II's - (We have one NIB White Case Imperfect Pink Keycap White LED Race I, Blue Cherry MX. PM if interested.)
Keycool 84's

Just to name a few...

I didn't realize the race had them. What else can you think of? Also, I would really appreciate it if you didn't conduct any sales in this thread.

Are Apple Extended II boards worth much? Found one that I can get for about $20 but it is really yellow so it will need a nice round of peroxide bathing. I don't know which Alps it has.

From what I have seen here, and the one I bought, the majority have dampened cream alps.  Though I believe some have been spotted with orange or salmon alps.  Keep in mind that the F row keys have the stem and switch rotated 90°.  Just something to keep in mind if you are looking to harvest caps for another board or a custom project.

I think that's a good price for the board. They're solid boards to use of you convert them.

I already have too many boards as it is so I'd basically just be buying it to resell, but if it isn't worth much more than that I'm not too worried about it. It's only $6.99 but then $10.17 shipping on top of that.

That's definitely not a board to flip then. AEK IIs are relatively easy to find and are cheap in general.

You can easily sell a clean working one in the $30-35 shipped range.

I have had mediocre results, at best, Retro-briting Apple gear, and it is not quick or easy.

If CM Storm still makes boards with greens, that'll be the cheapest non customized route. Forget the name of the CM full-size but I know at one point, you could get a Qfr with greens for around $80.

The full size would be the CM XT.

Control/Alt is the default setup for shortcuts.

If you right-click on a desktop icon and click "properties" then you can enter a single character in the "shortcut key" blank and it will automatically assume that "Control + Alt +" is the first part.

A lot of people use the first letter from there: W = Word, E = Excel, E = email, G = Geekhack etc

OP asked about Control/Alt

In the old days, "power-users" often preferred keyboard shortcuts to mousing.

With left function buttons, I set F10 to be Windows, it is almost in the right place anyway.

F7 is a good candidate to utilize, I never have any use for it otherwise.

I thought I remember seeing a mention of replacement G80-3000 PCBs. Anyone have the details on those? I want to build up another custom KB and TKL is so last year.

Photekq would know a little more about this than I do but if I recall correctly, the person in China who was going to make these (perhaps Leeku?) is busy and isn't running the buy anytime soon.

I've been trying to reach LONGZILLA but haven't gotten a reply yet :P

I was wondering if anyone happens to know or recognize what type of LEDs are these, and what colour? I can't tell if they're red or orange  :(

They are!  And some boards have rotated switches, so the LEDs go "above" the switches.  ;)

Since they're on a seperate key which ANSI layouts don't have, you might have to use something like Autohotkey.

Winkey is so useful .  It's hard for me to not have it.  Win+d, win+1 through 9, and so on.

Same here, I use Win+e and Win+l all the time.

True story. My top 3 are Win+d, Win+e, Win+r. Very useful.

Just compared with my RF. They're the same. The color is called "sakura" as in cherry blossom.

It's more commonly known in English just as pink.  If you buy pink RF caps you'll get this color.
